This is a very nice, mostly all original 1948 Lincoln V-12 Continental Cabriolet powered by a rebuilt, much more dependable and powerful early Chrysler 331ci Hemi engine. This is a true hotrod Lincoln. The Car just was released from a very large private collection. It is one of only 452 Cabriolets built in 1948. This is a very original car beside the engine. It has what looks to be all original paint and original chrome. It is a very solid rust free car that has been very well kept. These were largely hand built customs with body panels cut and fitted by craftsmen in the Lincoln factory. This car is recognized by the AACA as a Full Classic and is the last year for the full classic Continentals. The car is selling to the highest bidder at NO RESERVE!!!!!!!!!! This is a nice original 1948 Lincoln Continental that would make a great driver as it is or an excellent candidate for a light restoration. The black paint is believe it or not mostly all original and is fine for a driver. The finish has some light crazing, chips and stains. To be beautiful it would need a beautiful new paint job. The body is solid as a rock and very straight. All the panel fit is excellent. The chrome and stainless is all original and again good for a driver but to be excellent it would need to be redone. The interior is in very nice condition, finished in black. You would not need to do anything to the interior in my opinion. The dash is very nice. The dash chrome is all original and shows some of its age a touch. The steering wheel is very nice and crack free. The white top is in very nice usable condition. The rear window in the top would need to be replaced. The hydraulic power windows and top need to be serviced as they do not work. The hydraulic pump looks new but needs to be looked at. The radio, clock, heater, wipers and light switch also need to be repaired in order to work. Mechanically, the engine and transmission run excellent! This Lincoln runs and drives with no issues at all! The original V-12 engine was replaced with an early much more reliable and powerful early 331ci Chrysler Hemi engine. It was also converted to a much easier to drive automatic transmission. Under the hood is highly detailed and it looks like this motor came in the car from the factory. The Hemi engine was all rebuilt fully detailed and runs like a top. The car fires right up and runs as it was new. Driving down the road there are no squeaks or rattles and that's wonderful coming from a 60 plus year old car. This car truly runs excellent and is really fun to drive!
