Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is this classic BMW in great shape. I have put a ton of work into car but have to give up due to job loss and cannot continue project. I have invested over $4500 into this car. Car runs great but has rough idle, cuts off when driving under 1500 rpmā¦.It smooths out once car reaches operating temperature and cutoff usually stops as well. In fact, car runs and handles great once it has been running a while. Sun roof works but cable is not working. AC Fan works but needs Freon. I will throw in 2 cans of the correct freon for this car. All the other goodies in the trunk are included in auction as well such as spare relays, NEW rear brake rotors/pad, and other misc. items. Windows work but need some adjusting. Interior is in good condition and all leather. Some of the interior is showing its age though, easily fixed. Paint is very flat but has no rust at all. There is a small bit of rust in one part of hood, not visible unless hood is open. Clear title. Car still needs work, cosmetic mostly, but is well on its way to being perfect! Includes two mechanic manuals. I will not ship, you must pickup car. Work done on car: Upper end engine overhaul New fuel injectors (6) New main fuel pump and New tank fuel pump Timing chain replaced New Air Flow Meter Rear Main seal replaced Fuel hoses replaced Replaced old wheels/tires with Modern BMW Wheels Thermotime and coolant temperature switch replaced New Sachs clutch and transmission seals replaced Gear shifter linkage overhauled and replaced with short shifter kit Ignition wires replaced with high performance wires New battery Clutch slave cylinder replaced Ignition switch replaced Intake hoses replaced New fuel filter New cap/rotor New water pump with new fan/clutch New front brakes/rotors replaced New Idle control valve Listing shows V6, however, this is not V6 it is an inline 6 Cylinder engine. The 533i was the fastest Sedan in 1983 CLASSIC AUTO TRADER: "Value of Car? Average value is $4-6K." EHOW.COM: "The BMW 5-SERIES OF SEDANS IS DISTINGUISHED FROM OTHER CARS DUE TO ITS QUALITY AND REPUTATION. The first vehicle in the 5 series debuted in 1972; 11 years later, BMW introducted the 533i. This model was an improvement on previous models for its INCREASED POWER, ENHANCED SUSPENSION SYSTEM, BETTER TIRES AND STANDARD ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM. ENGINE: The 1984 533i has a 3.2L, 6-cylinder engine, boasting 181 horsepower. It has an official top speen of 132 miles per hour, a compression ration of 9:1 and a longitudinal engine alignment. The engine's bore and stroke are 3.5" by 3.4", and its torque is 213 foot-pounds at 5,500 RPM. THE CAR CAN GO FROM 0 to 60 MPH in 7.8 seconds. TRANSMISSION, BRAKES AND TIRES: In 1984, BMW introduced an optional four-speed automatic transmission for the 533i. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual. The 533i is equipped with 11" vented discs brakes in the front and 10.7" discs in the rear. The car's stock tires are Michelin 195/70R14 TRX. The front suspension system utilizes McPherson struts while the rear suspension system has semi-trailing arms. DIMENSIONS: The 1984 533i measures 190" in length, 67.2" in width and 55.9" in height. NADA PRICES: High: $6225 Average: $4825 Low: $3650 NO RESERVE! Keep in mind, it cost me over $1700 just for the head work and timing chain. It cost $600 for the new clutch installation and rear main seal. This alone surpasses the no reserve starting price. I have over $4500 invested NOT including the cost of the original purchase price. I found one of the receipts for the main work done to the car. The photo shows a scanned copy of some of the major work done to car.
