I am listing my 1978 jeep cj5 renegade up for sale .She has new bucket high back seats . The old low back seats were done away with years ago. The Jeep was a Levis edition, but the only thing to prove that anymore is the dash pad. She has not been registered this year as I really have not driven it in a while . It has been started and run to keep limber. It has new bearings up front .The 4 wheel drive works great, and has manual lock outs. The winch is new , but it has never been used and due to weather it needs rebuilt now. The tires are 31 X 10's in good shape the spare has never seen the ground. It comes with 3 tops; the soft top, bikini, and hard fiberglass top with doors. I also have some homemade half doors if you want them. There are no cracked glass and the jeep runs good. Its not new so don't expect a show vehicle. It is what it is a utility vehicle that I used to go to and from work in. The jeep has seen very little off road . It has good re-curved springs so it appears to have a lift . The rear bumper is a home built bumper , but I have the bumperettes that go with it.I also have the finish paint if you want that. The Jeep has served me well for a few years , but the ride is a little rough for me. Lets face it its a Jeep, a real one with round headlights ,made by AMC and not Dodge. It has the 258 straight 6 with the T- 150 tranny . If you don't know trannies ,its the toughest that tremic made for this vehicle. It shifts good , but on occasion 1st slips out. It has had a new throw out, pressure plate, and clutch put in it. The motor runs good and is not too bad on gas considering the year it was made which was 1977. The carb is new . The stereo goes with it. It is a JVC flip down front cd player. There is no rust in the floor pans which is unusual for this vintage, but there is some bubbling at the front door post area which is easy to repair. The front fenders too have the typical problems found under the scales. It comes with one fiberglass fender as a spare or replacement . I am not an expert on Jeeps , but I would not hesetate to take this thing to the coast and back. I've had a number of requests to sell outside of ebay, and frankly not interested. Been burned before , not again. I am in no bind to sell this jeep so I am not interested in tire kickers. If you are serious about a good jeep bid to win. If it does not go this time I will re-list at about hunting season !!
