Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a fine example of an all original 1981 Chevrolet Corvette. The car has only 23,000 original miles. I purchased it from an older gentleman in Auburn, Michigan last year who only put 1,000 miles on it in the 5 years he owned it. He informed me that he had new brakes and tires put on when he purchased it. The car showed 20,914 miles when it arrived at my doorstep. Most of the original sales brochures, as well as the original owners manual were included when I purchased the car. The Corvette was purchased from Stadium Chevrolet in Pontiac, Michigan. This Corvette is well-equipped with air conditioning (blows cold), power windows, power locks, tilt steering, cruise control, mirrored t-tops (including the original t-top cases), factory alloy wheels, power antennae (not currently working but is an easy fix), black leather seats (all original interior with no rips or tears), and the original AC Delco am/fm cassette player. The body is in excellent condition. The car has had one repaint in its original black color by the previous owner, as the original paint had started fading badly. Under the hood is the numbers matching L-81 350ci 4 barrel. The numbers matching transmission is the bullet proof TH350 automatic. I had the original Quadrajet carburetor rebuilt last year, as well as a full tune-up done. I had new plugwires, distributor cap and rotor, air filter, and spark plugs put in the car, all AC Delco brand. I also had the radiator and transmission fluids flushed and replaced, and had the rear end fluid drained and replaced. The motor is very clean, and even has the original AC Delco sticker on the side of the air cleaner cover. I have over $1,000 in receipts in repairs. The only mechanical components on the car that are not original are the mufflers. I had the original mufflers removed and replaced with dual Super 40 Series Flowmasters. I do have the original mufflers however, and they will be included with the car. The only other upgrade that has been done to the car are the speakers and CD player. I installed brand new Infinity Reference speakers in the dash and the rear (4 altogether), along with a Panasonic CD player, which I have hidden in the glove box. The original cassette player is still in the car right where it should be, and does work (it is currently disconnected in order to allow the CD player to work). I do still have the original Delco speakers, and they too will be included with the car. The factory sound system can easily be turned back in to the factory set up if desired. This is a beautiful car that is an absolute blast to drive. The NADA Blue Book value on this car is over $28,000. The only reason I am selling it is because I am planning on purchasing another classic car, and I can only afford to up keep one. This Corvette is a real head-turner, and with low miles like these, it will offer the next lucky owner many years of enjoyment. Thank you for taking the time to check out my auction, and good luck!
