1981 Jeep CJ-7, 71000 original miles, 4.2 (258) 6 cylinder,T-176 four speed mated to the incredible Atlas II, two speed transfer case. The Atlas II gives you the capability of running rear wheel drive high or low, front wheel drive high or low, and of course 4-wheel drive high and low, an Atlas II will set you back $2500.00 all by itself. Fairly new 325/60-15 (32") B F Goodrich Radial Mud TAs with at least 75% of the tread left on them on custom wheels. New poly bushings in the sway bar, new 1 1/2" poly body mounts. Brand new front and rear bumpers with D-rings and hitch reciever, strong rock sliders with outer tube. The engine runs absolutely awsome, I have owned several CJ's and TJ's and this may be the strongest one I have ever driven. The engine runs clean, starts clean, idles perfectly at any angle or under hard braking. The engine has a header and new exhuast all the way to the rear. Absolutely no rust on the frame, there is only two small spots on the body, just ahead of the Jeep logo on the tub (one of the typical spots for a CJ), where the paint has started to bubble up a bit. The windshield frame, fenders, tub, hood and floorboards are all rust free. This CJ has been in Colorado and Texas so there is no suprises. There are nice Bestop bucket seats up front (one minor blemish on the passenger seat, not a hole but a little material missing on the passenger seat bottom), there is a matching Bestop fold and tumble rear seat. All lights, guages (even the fuel guage), ventilation controls, windshield wipers and washer work perfectly, this is a Laredo so it has a factory tach. Bestop Super Top soft top and doors are in fair condition, the zipper on the drivers side of the rear window has come unstitched a little and there is a cut in the drivers window (see photos). As you can see I have tried to be as accurate as possible in the description of the Jeep, I have taken many photos from many angles to try and give an accurate depicton of what you are bidding on. I will be happy to take a photos of any area I may have missed if someone needs. I have taken close up shots of all the typical problem areas CJ's are known for to show how good of shape this Jeep is in. The Texas State inspection on the windshield is valid through 10/2011 and the tags are valid through 3/2013. It is registered as an antique vehicle. Also forgot to mention the Jeep has power steering and tilt column.
