Vehicle Detail
For sale is a '73 Datsun 240Z V8 conversion with custom roll cage, fuel cell and battery box. Roll cage has a swing out at the driver doorway which is currently not installed. All gauges are AutoMeter Silver Edition. Battery was relocated to the rear in a custom aluminum box for better weight distribution. The engine was built by Burbank Speed and Machine. It is a Chevy 327 small block bored out to 331 with a steel crank shaft, H beam stainless steel rods, Ross racing pistons and Molley Total seal rings. It has Crane roller camshafts, roller lifters, roller rockers along with Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads. The intake gaskets were matched and ports were polished. A Holley 650 double pumper modified by Lancaster Carbs tops it off. The engine puts out approximately 300 HP at the wheels. There is less than 3,000 miles on both the engine and tranny. Other engine items include: MSD Ultralite distributor, Jacobs Megacoil, Holley fuel pump, Edelbrock high volume water pump, Howe big aluminum radiator and a Flex-a-Lite Back Magic electric fan. A 1997 T56 Borg Warner 6-speed manual transmission is able to handle the power nicely. It's the same tranny that came on the Vipers and Camaros. Suspension has polyurathane bushings, big swaybars, Tokico 5-way adjustable shocks and springs. The car sits on 16" Panasport wheels from Japan with Yokohama ADVAN tires. Fronts are 225 50ZR 16 and rears are 245 45ZR 16. The tires were heat treated for track. I bought the Z in 2004 right after $30,000+ worth of parts and labor was put into its restoration. However, due to my negligence, a crack developed on the hood as shown it the pic. It has rusted through. After buying it, I've only driven it a handful of times. It sat in the garage for about 4 years but for the last 3 years it was covered and parked in the driveway, unregistered. Currently, it is registered and has the 2012 tags. As part of the auction, I'm including the car cover that is shown, a case of Royal Purple full synthetic oil (20W-50), an old car club with 2 keys and an older model Tom Tom GPS. I'm just throwing all that in for free. Other items of note include the following: rear end is stock 2 1/2 inch exhaust with headers it is a one-seater, but another seat can be installed turn signals are not wired upfuel sending unit float is stuck, shows full all the time interior door panels coming unglued push button start engine is very loud! Please, no trades. This auction is a re-list from eBay's classified ad. I am using my original eBay account that I recently regained access to. I haven't used it in a few years and forgot what email I used to register it.
