Vehicle Detail
1967 Ford Mustang Convertible This is a very well presented “driver” – she’s ready to go, fly in and drive her home! Details about this fine 60’s Mustang drop-top Overall: This is a very nice running and driving Classic Mustang convertible, it’s an original 289, C4 automatic car with AC!! It’s 100% ready to go now. It’s a great cruise night car and gets attention where ever it goes. Take it to the beach or drive it in the upcoming 4th of July parade! Drive Train: It’s believed to still have its #’s matching 289 V8 engine in it, which has been completely rebuilt and has less than 200 miles on it. It was performance tuned with a new carb installed – she really purrs now. The C4 transmission is bullet proof and the rear end doesn’t leak or make any strange noises. The owner also had a brand new dual exhaust system installed with dual mufflers and new tips (that muffler behind the rear end just didn’t cut it). Interior: Black vinyl buckets, the standard Mustang interior. It looks to be mostly original, as the carpet has some sun fade etc. Windows go up and down nicely; the power top is in very nice shape and has a boot to cover it when it’s down. Body: A good quality repaint of Ford red was done sometime in the 90’s and has held up extremely well, I believe the car was originally Gold (Z paint code), but I have not decoded the entire DSO tag or body buck tag (see pics). The car is always garaged and never driven in wet weather. The body and paint are very presentable; it gets many compliments from the people that see it. (Overall Quality: 7 on a scale of 1-10), the paint does have a good shiny clear coat. The body is straight, the weather stripping is in good shape and the glass is very nice. The power top works well and the AC is complete but since the engine was installed some hoses needed to be removed and reinstalled therefore the system now blows warm air. The aftermarket stereo adds to the comfort of the car. Please keep in mind that this classic Mustang 44 years old, and since it’s never been “restored” in the true sense of the word; there is wear and tear to be expected, some seeping of gaskets, the smell of gasoline when parked (remember?), some wandering when cruising, all that stuff we’ve grown to love about driving these old cars – this car is meant to be and is a very nice driver – not a trailer queen. Please only purchase this car to drive as a special occasion car and to enjoy at local car shows and Mustang club meets. Classic cars are NOT meant to be daily drivers - unless you are interested in doing a full restoration, in which case this car would be perfect as it’s a 100% running / driving car now and would be very easy to photo-document prior to disassembly – personally I’d drive this as it is.
