Vehicle Detail

This is a very rare Late 1931 Budd Cab, 32B Pickup with a Ford Wide Bed.This Truck was a Northern California Truck since New.The Truck was my daily Driver with a 100 horsepower warmed overbore A Block running a B cam, Mallory Electronic Distributer, Winfield Head, with A Weber Carb assisted by electric fuel pump .The engine ran a four into one Header to small muffler a side exit exhaust. This Truck is my Ebay Logo!!! and I will have to get along without it . The engine and motor mounts are not included in the sale of this Truck and is being removed for my use in a speedster before the Close of the auction. Everything else is included but my wife, the Dog, Goose, who is now Buried and the Rooster who is stuffed.!!! The radiator was new when I installed the motor in 2006 History The truck was modified many years ago to run a V8 Flathead , untouched firewall as this cab was factory indented with a 411Ratio rearend and Parralel Leafs in the rear. The Man was Plumber in Stockton and had put a Barden Bumper( Saramento Company) and boxed the rear frame and added a Cross member as front attachment for the leafs. The tailgate had two holes for his pipe to protrude to a towed Dolly!!. The truck was sold to a retired Santa Rosa Man who for ten years attemped to restore it and painted the truck with his wifes Vacumn Cleaner.? The man was not aware he would never even drive it and sold it to me.I proceeded to build out and complete the mechanical.I have put 3900 miles of pure fun I updated the wiring to a fuse panel an full disconnect electrical switch behind the gearshift and ran 12 volts to the new H4 Headlights fitted to old Dietz 820 "New York" cans that were on it for many years. The fifty year old turn signal indicator and the "Julian" Fog Horn both work.I updated the truck to Tube shocks all around with a steering Dampner on the front axle. The new brakes are all adjusted anThe Ford Military Visor were welded in place by Buddd roll free and work for a experianced Model A driver!!! ( Don't Tailgate watch for chickens crossing the road) The steering box and the Transmission were professionaly rebuilt and does not have slop or jump out of gear. The Gas Tank is mirror clean and has the original Ford Stainless Vapor filler that was installed new was put back in. The Original floor pans have original paint and factory wood with the Factory stove bolts for the rear seat frame back rests. The side aprons and running boards are new,There is no Rust Threw spot anywhere on the Cab however the paint has peeled off in many spots and should be airbrushed at least. ,a slight Dip in the middle and no one has stood on the Top of the cab . I also have had a 32 Ford Truck in which the cab is not as good in workmanship and the windows and windshield are much higher , This rare low profile Budd Cab does not have to be chopped and is very good looking. I am not sure How Many Budds were built and I have set my reserve price for the whole truck less than buying a non authenic 1929 Cab The steering column is not cracked or welded and the cab is solid as the day it was built. The original door stops rubber bumpers and top seals are still in place .The side windows were installed with felt liners. The new handles and door panels as well as a complete seat cover set, over the original seat springsThe rear Cab Glass is new . There is no headliner. The Budd body was removed and new frame liners ,spacers, and attachment bolts installed at that time. The Doors Shut like Vaults due to the superior Budd all steel Cab. I do not have a key for the passenger outside door lock The wide bed is solid and has the original rough sawn oak boards under the steel deck. The old plumber put two Okie Drain holes in the front of bed floor. All the Panels have integrity and with the boxed rear frame will haul anything. These beds continued until 1934.The Tailgate was patched by the second owner who painted the truck before I got it. The rear fenders are sedan and 750x16 inch tires on 40 Ford Rims with 48 caps have 3900 miles on them along with the 650x16 inch on 40 rims on the front. The Factory Spare appears to have been recapped in the Fifties and is probaby petrified! This truck is fun to drive and is almost rattle free except for the brake rods. The emergency brake will skid it to a stop in two clicks. This truck is my second Budd Body and proably my last as the are very Rare and I am getting old... The Original 31 California Plates and California Title are in my name go with the Truck. This Truck was probably assembled at the New Richmond, California Ford Plant as Henry closed the San Francisco Plant to get ready for the 32 Models. The front windshield is clear but has two crack lines that have lasted me to date. The Vin # listed is on the frame crossmember in front of the drivers side seat. The patina is awesome allow it shows small dents and dings an surface rust eventually I believe it will return to the original Black!! Or Rust .This truck would make a great Shop Truck with a period logo on the Door. I was going to put a duece Radiator shell which fits right up to the late 31 hood but had to much fun driving it as is. I will answer any questions by e-mail and the truck is available to inspect by appointment but I won't sell it out of this E-Bay Format.
