Here we go again.... Just so you know I will hold the car for a few days not a few weeks... I am relisting this beautiful car again because the last buyer wanted me to hold it for 4-5 weeks. PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE MONEY AND ARE A SERIOUS BUYER. THANKS. So here we go, In this auction is a unique BARN FIND. Its a ONE OWNER that has been in the same barn for 43 years. It was last driven in 1968 and then parked in the barn. It was never moved or touched until 3 weeks ago. This car in great shape. All of the body panels are in tach and have no rot. The only rust is a few holes in the outer rocker panels on each side. The floors are fine with no holes. The trunk is also fine with no rust or holes. This car still has the original motor and trans. Numbers matching. This car is basically 101% original. Now for the good news. It runs...... We got the motor running after 43 years. We soaked the motor's cylinders with oil for a week. We bypassed the gas tank and just hooked up a small gas can. I changed the plugs, cap, rotor, wires, etc.... The motor ran for a bit and we shut it down. The motor will need work to get running 100% It will need a new carb and a new water pump because the pump is leaking a little. Maybe it will be ok when the car runs for a bit. Probably just needs new seals. I have not checked the gas tank itself. There is something in there but I know the gas is shot. You would need to rinse it, and seal it, to use it again. All the glass is in great shape except for the windshield. The passenger side has a crack in it and the drivers side has a small chip. All glass has no fog and is nice and clear. All the lights and electrical stuff works fine. The brake lights, blinkers, headlights, horn, turn signals all work fine. This car only has 51,000 miles on it. The interior is all there. The front seat looks to be worn a little but could be recovered easily. The back seat is in good shape.The car is a 3 speed manual on the column. I have not checked the clutch or the brakes. I am sure the clutch is ok. I pressed the clutch and it seems to be engaging fine. The brakes lines were leaking when I tried pressing the brake pedal. The tires actually look good after sitting for 43 years. They actually still hold air. I would change them, but for now they roll fine. From what I was told the car was parked when the owner got sick and then passed away. The car never moved again after that. This is a project car. This car will need a lot of work but is all mechanical. The body is not bad. It just has surface rust. The outer rocker panels need to be replaced and are like $50 on ebay for both sides. It wouldn't take much to do what the car needs to be road worthy again. I hate to say it but hopefully someone saves the car but most guys trun them into drag cars. Its up to the new owner. The car is being sold with a bill of sale only. I have not found the registration as that is the title in NY. There is a way to get the title with no problems. I will help the new buyer do so. I did run the vin and history of the car and it is clean and a one owner car. I have taken a lot of pictures. If you need pics of anything else just ask. If you have any questions just email me.
