Here we are selling a… 1956 IFA BK350 Here is an opportunity to own a piece of Post War, East Germany, Motorcycle history! The IFA BK350 was produced from 1953-1959 in what was once the DKW factory, then later becoming the MZ factory. Built behind the Iron curtain of East Germany the IFA BK 350 is considered by many to be the most successful two-stroke “boxer” ever built. When you put into perspective that this bike was built in a post war communist country it’s amazing that they put so much into the styling and durability of this bike! This is an extremely rare bike here in America! This particular bike was restored many years ago. The current owner has always kept it in heated, climate controlled storage. When he last parked the bike several years back he said that it seemed to have a little carburetion problem (sputtering a bit). He has not ridden it since that time. Therefore it is being sold as a non-running bike, although it is free and has very good compression. It would more than likely take very little to get it running perfectly again! The mufflers appear to be in original (non-perfect condition). There is a small dent on the right side of the tank (see photo) and I believe that the tank badges are not original. Other than that this is an extremely nice bike (as you can see in the photographs!) This bike also comes with the very hard to find original sales brochure and factory service manual!
