Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a solid 1984 928 that I purchased three months ago. After much discussion with my wife I realized that I am accumulating too many toys and have to let a few thingsgo. Unfortunately, the 928 was at the top of the list being my latest impulse buy. When I purchased the vehicle 7 months ago it had: -New brakes-New tires-New upper control arms I have driven probably 200 miles since that time. When I purchased the car I had our local premiere Porsche mechanic thoroughly inspect the vehicle and he found: -Left rear shock was installed backwards causing damage to the hub and bushings. The hub was subsequently re-machined, new bushings installed and new wheel bearings installed. -Severely worn ball joints. New ball joints were installed. -Two new window switches so the windows now function properly. -All belts, including timing belt, inspected and are in very good shape -Small leak from the torque converter seal. An additive was placed in the transmission fluid to help soften and reform the seal and the leak is noticeably less, although drops will accumulate on the garage floor over a few days. Engine runs very strong and the transmission shifts smoothly. After the above repairs the car feels incredibly solid and handles very ,very well. Suspension feels tight, motor purrs, fires up every time. Some minor repairs I performed: -Center console fitted with new mounting brackets so it does not flop around. -New leather armrest -New dash cover -New custom fitted pvc leather seatcovers (the backs of the seats have tears in the leather) -New male rear hatch spring and receiver liner so the rear hatch closes tight. -Front bra (not in pictures but included in auction) -Old cracked shift indicator removed and refitted with a leather shift boot -New visor clamps Ok, now the bad: -Paint is faded in areas with with small scratches, most notably on the right upper fender as pictured and also around the sunroof and hood. -AC non op, heater does not blow very hot, automatic rear latch motor removed. (Rear latch is is fine you just have to get out to open it) -No front spoiler and front grill needs two outer brackets. -Dash under cover is cracked, vinyl interior door panels flop around and need to be fitted more securely. -A couple of the seat switches need replaced as well as the sunroof and rear wiper switch. -Both armrests on driver and passenger doors could use a reinforcement bracket. I found a pair online that cost about $80 bucks. -Front bumper paint chipping. Bra will conceal nicely if not intending to repaint. -Needs a new sunroof switch (sunroof works, but the switch is bad) More good stuff -Killer alpine stereo with ipod cable -Included in sale is a new waterproof car cover and bra -Included in sale is a complete 928 workshop manual on cd -No rust, No dents, undercarriage is clean. -Chrome wheels -Push-button ignition with button in an easy to reach, "hidden" spot. -Momo shifter knob -California smogged in December with clean title in hand This is a really fun, solid car and I will be sad to see it go. Buyer is responsible for pick up/shipping. $200 deposit at close of auction. Cash, Cashiers check, Money transfer,Money order, Personal check (must clear first).
