Vehicle Detail
Up for bid in this NO RESERVE auction is my 1980 Jeep CJ7 carryall 4x4. The old 4.2 inline 6 motor has been swapped out for the fuel injected 4.0 inline 6 out of a 1994 Jeep Wrangler. The AX-15 5 speed manual transmission was also swapped in out of the Wrangler. This was mated to the original (and shorter) Dana300 1980 transfer case. The body has 119000 miles and the engine has about 10k less than that. There is also a Superlift 4” suspension lift along with a 1” body lift. This all makes for some great ground clearance and some extra room for the 12.5 X 35” Big Foot tires which have tons of good tread left (see pictures). I recently had a Trailmaster dual steering stabilizer installed to eliminate any over-steer due to the oversize tires. To the best of my knowledge, it has a one piece rear axle installed. I had a tune up done on the motor within the last 10k miles and there is also a short ram air intake installed. The wiring harness from the ’94 motor was custom spliced into the ’80 dash panel. All lights, gauges, and side markers work inside and out except for the oil pressure gauge due to a short in the gauge. Smoked out LED flush mount lights were installed to replace the stock rear lights. LED back-up lights installed as well. The only other major body modifications that I can recall are the relocated and custom installed Jeep fuel door as well as the YJ roll bar which adds the extra supports going to the windshield and the shoulder harness seat belts. The paint is only a few years old and is similar to the ’05 Ford metallic grey color. The interior and the underbody have both been coated with a paint-on bed liner and the frame has been painted with POR15 to continue to preserve its excellent condition. Dash and engine bay have been painted to match. There are some minor dings and nicks as well as some bubbling under the paint on the sides of the front quarter panels but overall she looks great for a 30+ year vehicle. Extras include: Hard top New rear hatch struts Has rear windshield wiper and defroster with wiring harness but you need to add the switches to make them work Hard doors These have not been redone to match the new paint but are black and work/fit great Leather covered panels for the interior of doors is included but not installed Besttop soft top in great condition Besttop soft doors in excellent condition Besttop bikini top Aftermarket bucket seats Small tear on driver’s side Minor water stain on passenger side Both seats are adjustable and flip forward Optima red top battery Air horns Can be seen in the picture with the battery, look underneath the battery tray Grab handles on both sides Nerf bars Custom front bumper Original front and rear bumpers included Rear back seat with storage (not installed) Center console with storage and cup holders (not installed) Chrome trim and grill (not installed) There is a chrome cover installed for the windshield wiper motor that is not shown There is a chrome bezel installed around the steering column that is not shown I will include any other misc. parts I can find on the shelves of my garage that would be helpful. This Jeep was a CO vehicle when I bought it and then I did a frame off restoration. It is the original steel tub. Since then, it was my daily driver until my daughter was born; since then I have been driving my Cherokee more to accommodate the car seat. My mechanic has gone through this Jeep to make sure there are no major issues and said it looks good. I would be 100% comfortable with my wife behind the wheel of this Jeep as far as safety is concerned. You would be able to driver this Jeep home if you are the winning bidder but I wouldn't recommend it for cross country drives simply because it would be a long rough ride. This Jeep was built to be a daily driver that can handle the trail as well. While this is a NO RESERVE auction, I do reserve the right to end the auction early as my Jeep is for sale locally as well. I will require a $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal within 72 hours of the auctions close with the remainder of the winning bid to be paid via cashier’s check, money order, or cash. I will not sign over the title until I have received payment in full. You are welcome to come see my Jeep before bidding, but please ask all questions prior to bidding and any bidders with a rating of 5 or less must email me prior to bidding. If you are the winning bidder and would like to have this Jeep shipped to you, you will be responsible to make all the arrangements and cover all shipping costs but I will be happy to work with your shipper to aide in the load up once payment has been received in full. Any questions, feel free to email me with your contact info and I will be happy to respond. Thank you and happy bidding. On Jun-19-11 at 20:22:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Update and good news for all current and potential bidders! I have just edited my local Craigslist ad to direct people to Ebay if they are interested in purchasing my Jeep. Due to the response and activity I have had on Ebay so far, I will no longer end the auction early for a local sale. So this means that the auction will run its course and the highest bidder will win this Jeep. This is a NO RESERVE auction in the truest sense. If you would like to set up a time to come see my Jeep in person before bidding, I am flexible with my schedule and happy to help. Thank you.
