2001 SUPERCHARGED Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Car This 2001 SUPERCHARGED Ford P71 Crown Victoria Police car was purchased new in 2001 by a friend of mine for use to drive back and forth to work as his company car in his family owned business. He searched numerous Ford dealers and finally found a Ford dealer that would sell a him and his company a NEW P71 Police Ford Crown Victoria. Ford restricts the sale of new P71 police cars to the civilian public.  This car has NEVER been in police service and has been used exclusively by one person for his company car. Original mileage on this car at the time of this auction is 58,496 miles. Upon his purchase of this P71 Crown Victoria he immediately began to spend a LOT OF MONEY upgrading the performance, handling and comfort of this car. First he started with the installation of a $6,000+ Allen Inter-Cooled Roots Type Supercharger and all necessary performance upgrades needed to support the supercharger. Upgrades included the relocation of the battery to the trunk, complete fuel system upgrades including the injectors, fuel pump and more. Installation of the intercooler water system. Pillar post gauges to monitor the fuel pressure, air/fuel mixture and boost gauge. A digital tachometer was installed to monitor the engine RPM’s. New air intake system and air cleaner system.  The exhaust was upgraded with a FULL Cat Back Dyno-Max exhaust system with a full X pipe, larger exhaust pipes and Dyno-Max chambered mufflers. The car still retains all the proper catalytic converters and exhaust sensors. The transmission was upgraded with internal parts to support the supercharger, upgraded shift points and a separate transmission oil cooler. The rear end gear was changed to a lower gear. Bilstein shock absorbers were installed at all four corners of the car. A nice Pioneer AM-FM-CD & XM Satellite radio system was installed along with the Pioneer amp and speakers. The windows have been aftermarket tinted. The car still retains all the P71 Police Package parts to include the aluminum drive shaft, fully boxed frame, engine oil cooler, heavy duty cooling package, special police steel wheels with center caps, dome light, trunk release, certified speedometer, police heavy duty electric system, special police suspension, aluminum rear trailing arms, full size spare tire, blacked out grill & mirrors and other police package items. The exterior of the car is the Ford factory Brown paint with a tan interior. The exterior of the car is in nice condition with nice paint and appearance. All the body panels on the car are original with the appropriate VIN stickers in place and shown in the pictures. The front bumper cover will need repainted as there is paint flaking off the cover. It appears to me that the bumper cover has been replaced at one time. The fenders, doors, hood, trunk-lid and rear quarter panels are nice and original to the car. The rear bumper cover is original to the car. All the glass in the car is original and in nice condition with the exception of the windshield which is crack on the right upper side of the windshield. The crack is not in the driver’s view and is also shown in the pictures. The car still has all the original side moldings on the front doors usually not found a police car. This car does not have a spotlight and has never had a spotlight. Mechanically the car runs and drives GREAT! The car is very fast, handles well as is expected of a P71 Police package Crown Victoria and is very comfortable to drive with the upgraded civilian Crown Victoria cloth interior. The air conditioning is cold and the heat is hot. The Pioneer XM stereo works and sounds great.  All the gauges work properly.  The power mirrors and door locks work.  All the lights and signals work properly.  All the seat belts are complete and work properly.  The owners manuals and other information is in the glove box.  The tires on the car are a matched set of Bridgestone Potenza tires with excellent tread mounted on the original P71 Police steel wheels. The original spare tire is in the trunk. The suspension is nice and tight and the Bilstein shock absorbers make the handle and ride nice and firm.  As nice as this car is there are a few mechanical picks. The 2 front power windows to do not work. The rear power windows do work properly. The air bag light is on and the cruise control does not work. I have been told the air bag light issue and the cruise control issue are both related to the 1997 style factory leather Crown Vic steering wheel that has been installed on the car. No guarantee of that being the problem however that is what I have been told is the problem related to these two issues. I was not able to get the original steering wheel from the original owner and have not been able to find a correct and matching tan colored steering wheel at the salvage yard. The interior of the car is very nice! This P71 Crown Vic is unusual in that it is a P71 police car AND the car was ordered with the upgraded stock regular production civilian Crown Victoria tan cloth interior. That means a full 50/50 cloth front seat and cloth rear seat. Full interior carpet, factory floor mats and much more. The dash panel, carpet, door panels, headliner, gauges, climate control switches and package tray are all excellent. All the weather-stripping on the car is excellent. The aftermarket window tint is OK and has begun to release in a couple of places. It is certainly OK.  Most folks would not replace it but the tint is not perfect. The pictures included in the auction should speak for themselves as to how nice the interior is on this car! We purchased this car from the original owner’s family business in May of this year (2011). The original owner stopped using this car as his daily company car in 2007 and purchased another company car. Since that time they kept this car at their business as an extra vehicle. The car has been driven less than 1,000 miles in the last 4 years which is why the car is still very low mileage at 58,496 original miles.
