Vehicle Detail
1977 Blue MG Midget Great running car. I just have too many projects, so I have to sell something. My wife said it was either this or my Rx-7 that I'm doing an engine transplant in. I LOVE this car, but figure it will be really hard to sell the RX-7 in its current condition. This midget had a frame up restoration in the mid 1990's. It runs great and is the most fun car I have ever driven. It's like driving a go-cart on the street; every turn is a blast. Some details you should know I have wired the sound system to play from an MP3 player via a 1/8in standard plug, but all the wiring is there to put in a stereo if you like. The paint is really shinny, but there are some normal blemishes. I've done my best to show them in the pictures. On the "boot" there are some hairline cracks in a semi-circle-like arc. Some paint is chipped off in a few small places and there are a couple of spots with tiny rust bubble beneath the paint (nothing to worry too much over, though). Two gauges aren't working right now. The fuel gauge goes straight to full when the car is on and the speedometer/odometer isn't working (so the mileage isn't right). I haven't had these looked at. It might be an easy fix. I don't know. In general these cars are super simple to work on.There is a tear around one of the soft-top buttons on the driver side. This could be stitched up. I haven't had any problems with water coming in during rain.I took off the front bumper because I think the car looks better without it, but even though it is not pictured it is included. It is painted blue like the rear bumper. As such, the front turn signals are also off and could stand to be installed. There are adapters to fit the standard turn signals to the body minus the bumper if you search the web for them. That's pretty much all of the info and "trouble" I can think of. I believe whoever gets this car will really have a blast with it. I'm sorry to see it go, but my wife won't let me have 2 "fun" cars. Please contact me if you have any questions.
