I am listing this car for a computerless friend,so any questions for me about it will take a little time to answer,because I'll have to get the answer from him,although I think I can describe the car accurately. This car is in excellent condition,not a #1 car,but at least a high #3 or #2.The body was restored from a low mileage,very nice car about 10 years ago and had a complete new original type interior installed at the same time.The brakes and suspension were all redone then also.Most of the trim was rechromed or polished at that time.This was all done by the previous owner.About 8 years ago the current owner had the original 283 completely rebuilt by a professional shop.The rebuild included all new internals and the modification to the heads for unleaded gas.The fuel pump,water pump and generator were replaced with new ones.The carburetor was rebuilt at that time.It's unknown if the Powerglide has ever been rebuilt,but it works perfectly and does not leak.A complete new stainless steel dual exhaust system was installed at that time also.A new set of B.F.Goodrich radial wide whitewalls were put on then,also.The spare in the trunk is the original tire.It's apparently never been on the ground.The interior of the trunk is spotless and looks like new. The car doesn't have many options other than some original chrome trim options,such as the spinners on the wheelcovers,the chrome band on the lower trunk lid,bumper guards,etc..It has no power steering or brakes. Everything on the car works,even the clock.The original AM radio has been converted to FM,but still appears original. There are a couple of things to note about the car.We think it was originally a different color,but we don't know what it was.The black on it now is not a perfect paint job,but it is close to it.Here are the paint and trim codes on the tag;Paint P815D Trim 675. The car runs and drives like a new 57 Chevy.I know because it is identical to one that I bought new in March of 57.Nothing has been modified on it except the paint color,the exhaust system and the radio.All glass is excellent. This car has only been driven less than 1,000 miles since all the work was done on it.It's always been garaged in a climate controlled garage and hasn't been driven at all in the last 5 years,and has never been driven in inclement weather. The odometer shows 2845 miles,but actual mileage is unknown. There is a reserve on this auction that I won't reveal in fairness to all bidders. A $500 deposit must be placed with my PayPal account within 48 hours of the end of the auction.The balance is due within 7 business days and must be in the form of a cashiers check, personal check or cash.The car and title will not be released until 10 business days after I receive payment.If the buyer wants to pay with cash,it must be done at a time during banking hours.I'm sorry if this is a little harsh but in todays world we can't be too careful. The car is available for inspection with a day or two advance notice. If the buyer desires,I can deliver the car on an open trailer anywhere in the continental U.S. for $1.75 per mile.
