Vehicle Detail
This is a ultra rare 1982 Mercedes 280sl inline 6 with the 5speed Manual transmission. It has 115520 miles which is low for the year. The body is in good condition with very little surface rust and virtually no underside rust and chrome is near perfect no rust. The clear coat is pealing off in spots. The interior is all original and is in excellent condition. There are a few minor cracks in the dash and one crack in the driver seat but no tears. The driver seat is heated from the factory and works. The SL also has the ultra rare Euro manual crank windows which both work. It has both tops and the hard is in perfect shape with good glass. Radio is in there but not hooked up. The soft top will need to be replaced there are some tears. The SL also has rare Euro model Mercedes wheels. It starts right up and runs and drives. the transmission and clutch are working good. The engine seems strong and runs it does seem a bit noisy not sure what is causing it. I would say a good tune up and some top end adjustments and work would have it sounding perfect. This is a clean very rare 280SL that will be a great toy that needs a little work and tlc to be a solid daily driver and a rare valuable collectible. Vin is WDB10704210014523 since it is a true Euro Model Ebay doesn't recognize it. Please ask any question you may have.On Jun-15-11 at 13:46:26 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received many questions about the noise the SL makes. I may have overstated I like to error on the side of honesty. You have to be listening very carefully to hear it it may just be my ears. Its a light clicking sound. This car runs and drive very well. I still would recommended a tune-up because I believe in keeping cars in great shape.
