Vehicle Detail

1991 Honda Civic DX Hatchback – Automatic – Air - Original – Wonderful! (Note! This car was listed several weeks ago and sold to a very solid eBay member. However, after we waited patiently for quite some time, he finally told us that he couldn't obtain financing and he would be unable to complete the purchase. He never came to look at the vehicle. The car didn't sell because of the bidders financial situation, not anything to do with the car. So we will try again, from the beginning.) This is the nifty little Honda that you dream about finding, in original and completely unmolested condition. It is, quite literally, a little old lady’s car, which she and her husband used to run around town when they didn’t want to take the new car out. I’m listing this car for my wife’s mom, and because I value my 100% positive eBay rating, will do everything possible to be accurate in my description. Bud and Betty were in their 70’s when they purchased this car used 14 years ago. We don’t know anything about its prior history but it still wears its original metallic gray paint and is in beautiful original condition. The dealer where they bought it told them that a damaged passenger door had been replaced but we find no evidence any othes serious body repair. The attached history report indicates three accidents but after 14 years, no evidence of any prior or lasting damage has materialized. And also, there is no evidence of being a kids car. No silly spoilers or lowered suspension or nosebleed radio – just a grown-ups car throughout. It took me only about an hour to prepare this car for the pictures I took the day before I listed it; just a bucket of sudsy water for the outside and a quick vacuuming for the inside. Period. The only non-original additions include a little digital clock sitting on the dash, and professionally applied legal window tinting (lots of glass area for such a little car). It has 109,446 miles on it, which is low for a twenty year old car, and a mere teenager in Honda years. It is located in West Jefferson, Ohio, just west of Columbus. We encourage visits and test drives. The Good List: · The pictures pretty much tell the story about the body and paint. No rust repair ever. The paint still shines and there are hardly any scratches or dings to be found. It is straight as a string. · It runs and drives like a new car. It tracks straight down the road, the engine humming like a sewing machine. The tires are perfectly balanced and the brakes are firm and smooth. The steering is tight and light and the body is tight and rattle-free as a new car. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly but firmly. It is totally happy in the city or at freeway speeds. You have to drive it to appreciate it. · Everything Works! The air conditioning blows super cold. The intermittent wipers work perfectly and the windshield washers work fine. All the lights work. The heater heats and the fan blows and the radio plays both AM and FM, (though the left front speaker has a bit of a rattle at times – full disclosure here). · As you would expect from a senior citizen’s car, the maintenance is very up-to-date. The tires are new, and though the exhaust system is several years old, it probably has less than 5000 miles on it. The timing belt and water pump were replaced this past year, not because of a problem but just because they were due in order to prevent one. At the same time, all of the accessory belts were replaced. Finally, since the car has only been driven about 1000 miles in the last three years, we installed a new battery this week. I would not be afraid to take this car anywhere. The Very Short Bad List: · The driver’s seat has on small place worn through the fabric, as shown in the pictures. · The only rust on the car is on the filler panel that sits below the taillights and above the rear bumpers. I have shown a photo of one area, though there are actually several, but all on the same piece. · The cap from the windshield washer fluid tank is missing, replaced by a piece of sticky backed foil. Questions will be answered as promptly as possible. If you wish to talk, please email through eBay with your phone number and someone in the family will call you back. Again, feel free to visit and drive this little gem. You will not be disappointed. Also, for the curious, the reserve price is somewhat less than the retail price shown on the nadaguides.com website. The owner's position is that before she would give this great little car away, there are grandkids and neighbors waiting in line. Good luck and happy bidding.
