Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1954 Chevrolet station wagon, which is in excellent restored condition. I bought this car from a friend in 1987 and I new the car already for two years prior. For a long time thought I would never sell this car because it is so rust and bondo free! I did a frame off restoration and striped the body to bare metal that is how I know there is no Bondo in it. I installed a Gary Heidts mustang II front end with rack and pinion steering and made the transmission cross member a drop out. The engine is a GMC 292 inline six cyl. With many jet hot coated parts- oil pan, side covers, timing cover, headers and y pipe. The engine was completely rebuilt and bored so it is now around 300 c.i. The bell housing is a Mcloyd one piece, Transmission is a Borg Warner T-5 five speed overdrive which I bought new (it is the V8 model not the one for the six cly.) The drive shaft and differential are Cadillac with 342 ring and pinion 8 ½ in. 10 bolt. Posi-traction. Brakes are four wheel disc and two reservoir master cyl. There is less than 100mi. on new wheels and continental conti. pro tires, there is a space saver tire and jack in the original tire well. The car is 12 volt that has a battery shut off switch. All of the dash board gauges are original and work. The odometer was replaced when the new drive line was installed under 19,500 on it now. Am/ Fm stereo tuner with cassette player that will accept a CD changer but there is not one installed. Paint is DuPont Base coat clear coat which was done about 10 years ago. Also has painted on wood grain that was professionally done. Completely redone interior, all new weather-stripping and window channeling. Tinted windows. One piece front bumper. The car runs and drives Great!!!! Gets 18+ MPG on 87 octane gas. **No money was spared doing the restoration on this car ** You can drive this car any where, Fly in and drive it home Reserve price is less then the amount of money that was put in the restoration. You will never find a wagon in this condition If you have any questions about this car call ED at 847-417-5363
