1969 Impala needing "Complete Restoration", needs Interior, Top, some floor work, trunk pan, etc. Car has factory power windows, automatic transmission, and has the Matching numbers 396 Engine with TH400 Transmission in the car. I actually pulled the engine because when i got the car i was told it had been sitting for some time and i didn't want to take a chance starting a dormant engine. I removed the valve covers, intake manifold, and the oil pan. To my surprise the engine had been rebuilt completely (Pistons,Rings,Cam,Bearings,Lifters, etc.) and in fact had never even been STARTED UP. I dropped the engine back into the car, put a set of brand new headers,cap, rotor, plugs, wires, oil & filter, and some fresh Premium Gasoline and it started right up. The engine runs excellent. The tranny also appears to have been rebuilt, but i cannot comfirm this,it shifts through the gears fine, so it runs, drives, and stops, but again the car needs alot of work to be road worthy. The car also has a 12 bolt posi rear end. The fenders, hood, inner fender wells, trunk lid, rockers, and Quarters look to be rust free, there is one spot on the frame that will require a small repair. I am selling it mainly for the drivetrain but this car could easily be restored. Vehicle is sold "AS IS". If anyone has additional questions feel free. Car will not be released until funds are cleared.On Jun-08-11 at 12:56:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some additional pics of the Car, the Fenders are rock solid, the passenger door is rock solid, the quarters are new and it looks to be a very quality job, the body lines look great, overall the floors and trunk are very solid, but will need some minor patch work or could be left as is, the rockers are very solid. With some minor body work and fresh paint this car would be super straight.
