Vehicle Detail
104,000 Miles Restoration on this car was completed in August of 2009. My husband originally took possession of this vehicle as abandonded at his auto body business in 1993 and it has been in his possession and garaged since then. We have documentation to show the car was inoperable and stored for 16 years. In 1998 he converted this coup into a targa. The conversion was professional and correct. We started the resto in 06 and it was complete in 2009. The odometer read 96,000 since 1993. Since we completed the resto, we've put on approximately 8,000 miles. The car has never been smoked in. This car runs great and is driven regularly. It was originally from Texas, then Florida and it has absolutely NO RUST and it has had NO ACCIDENTS. PARTIAL LIST OF NEW PARTS FOR MECHANICAL RESTO Fuel tank sender; rotary compressor conversion; stop lite switch; fuel accumulator; chain tensioner; timing chain; valve seals; t/s switch; fuel injectors; air box; ignition wires and plugs; clutch pressure plate and disc spring; throw out bearing; pop valve; ignition cable; air intake boot; valve spring kit; oxygen sensor; ignition coil; shocks; bosch starter; alternator; fuel distributor; chrome tipped exhaust. Too many new parts to list. The Cooper zion tires have about 8,000 miles on them. New brake calipers and pads; new shocks. This is only a partial list of new parts installed during the engine resto... all seals, gaskets, hoses, bushings, couplers, etc. were replaced. The entire top of the engine was restored. We have all receipts. The engine was removed from the car to do this work correctly. This 911 runs strong, no significant oil leaks, shifts smoothly, does not smoke. It is a pleasure to drive. EXTERIOR RESTO The Red Garnet paint job was done by my husband, who has over 50 years experience in the business. It is beautiful and is factory color. We installed: new targa top; leather skins for front seats; dashboard cover; custom Porsche mats and deck lid mat. The carpets, side panels are all original and in excellent condition. All original knobs and dials. We did replace the radio with a CD player. Items to address: We did not restore the sun visors (we have the original frames). The passenger seatbelt webbing is frayed and should be replaced. We did install new front and back top rubbers. The rear top rubber does show some wear now. We also installed new rubbers around side windows and doors. The mouldings around the front and rear glass is original and in good condition as is the glass, which is also original. Please note the polished aluminum wheels. A good friend of ours spend many hours hand polishing these wheels so they gleam. There are no chips or scratches on these wheels. This car has done well in local car club shows and has won many trophies and ribbons. Most of the miles we have put on this car are highway miles on long weekend drives. We have driven the car on half a dozen weekend trips around florida and the car has always operated reliably. This is a really fine car. This car is ready to go and has all of the hard work done on it already! Thanks for looking at our car and please tell your friends that may be interested.
