Vehicle Detail
Incredible original condition classic Mercedes sedan. This is the one you have been waiting for! This particular combination was only offered stateside for one model year. It has the 230 BHP 4.5 liter V-8 which has tremendous torque of 278 ft-lbs at 3200 RPM. This engine has five main bearings with aluminum heads and valve covers. This vehicle is very advanced for its time in that it also sports Bosch electronic port fuel injection and solid valve lifters. It has four wheel disc brakes, unibody steel construction, and very nimble handling. It has a four speed automatic transmission. Two days ago I drove up Parleys canyon following my wife in her 600SL Mercedes. This is a windy steep canyon and it followed her with no problems and ran like a dream. The clock on this car even works. The paint is in fantastic shape. There isn't a nicer paint and interior color combination around for a classy Mercedes. There are no paint chips, it has a high quality, high end paint job. There was no cost cutting on this paint job. It is such a great job that it is difficult to tell it has been repainted. The interior is in phenomenal condition. The dash has one small crack. The wood on top of the dash needs refinishing, the rest is in very nice condition. We have the original tool kit, jack, and spare. The car starts and drives beautifully. Everything works as it should. The car has floor mounted automatic shifter which is unusual. Power windows all work well. Nice big sunroof that works perfectly. Brand new coco mats with black and red dots. These are the original style cocomats and are extremely high quality. The original carpets are like new. The originals mats are in the trunk. There is an Alpine CD player with an I-pod jack in the glovebox. Power antenna, power steering, power brakes, and A/C. The A/C may need a charge. I would gladly drive this car cross country. It has great glass throughout, all clear and perfect. There are original wheel covers. They have a little curb rash. The car body is straight and pristine with correct body gaps and closing. The chrome is unbelievable and looks new. The grill is shiny and perfect. There is one small bump on the headlight surround and a few on the upper rear bumper guards. You wouldn't notice them unless I pointed them out to you. The car is rust free except for one quarter sized bubble in the paint on the passenger side lower rocker panel. There is no other rust. This car is in nicer condition than cars that are two years old. You would have to spend big bucks to restore a vehicle to this level. February, 2009 Automobile Magazine proclaimed this vehicle a collectible classic and offered it high praise. This is a superb example. Do not let it get away!
