This car belongs in a Museum! This is an incredible find, a totally original 2 owner 35.623 mile 1953 MGTD, paint, interior, mechanicals, everything is the way it left the factory when new. Car was used sparingly for the first 28 years of it's life, then parked in a heated garage for 30 years after the death of it's 2nd loving owner. No rust, not rot, original paint throughout. Original interior. Original top. You will never find another like this, perfect survivor condition. here is the fotofile: http://mgtdbarnfind.shutterfly.com/pictures/39#9 The car was used for shows and pleasure by the first owner, Mr. W.E Lane of Romeo MI, who owned the car from 1953 till 1976, the second owner Mr. A. Madsen from Birmingham MI, owned the car till his death in 1981 when the car was parked up in a heated garage till this year. When I found it I could not believe that you could still find cars in this condition, I am not an MG man, but recognised it to be totally original. I have seen restored cars, but as they say, a car is only original once, this one still has it's red oxide paint undercoating under the fenders, as it should. SInce it had not been started in 30 years, I had the gas drained, the battery charged and it fired right up, it runs as smoothly and smoke free as it did new. The brake hoses were toast, so they were replaced, oil and water were topped off, and I drove the car home. Nothing else has been replaced or messed with, when the car was parked, it was given a new set of 5 period tires and they are like new. The car runs and drives as you would expect from such a low mileage 58 year old car. This is a unique chance to buy a wonderful piece of history, apart from the steering wheel which has totally delaminated, and the clear rear window which has cracked, and there is a slight dent on the passenger fender, other than that the car is as it left the factory, it even comes with the rare factory heater, luggage rack, original tools and period jack.
