Vehicle Detail
1976 Triumph Spitfire Project Car. Needs lots of work, but runs and drives. Shifts through all 4 gears plus reverse well. Many new parts, new and old. Not road legal until electrical and brakes are gone through. Clean and Clear Kansas Title. Comes with convertible top and Steel Hardtop. Please feel free to e-mail me any questions. Will need to be trailered. I will be happy to deliver anywhere within Manhattan for free. If you are outside of Manhattan, we can work something out. Sold As-Is where-is.On May-25-11 at 18:36:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Has the original Tahiti Blue paint. 1976 was an interesting year for the Spitfire 1500, because Triumph/BMC put a 9:1 Compression Ratio Engine in it, instead of the standard 7.5:1. This car is very rough, but new panels have been installed and a couple of loose panels will be included. The Engine runs and sounds strong; no exhaust. The Gearbox feels solid and shifts freely between all gears. This Spitfire does start, run and move, however it is not roadworthy by any means; this is a project and will need to be trailered home(I can help transport if local). It will come with 7 rims and tires.(3 are original to the 76 model year) The White Steel Hardtop and Convertible top will also be included(Convertible top is missing the back window). I will include both bumpers, the rear bumper is missing the driver's side overrider. The electrical system was disconnected by the previous owner in an attempt to start a restoration. To my knownledge all the wiring is there and just needs to be plugged back into the British Leyland connectors. The Brake system needs to be filled and bled. It may have a leaky wheel cylinder or a broken line because the fluid comes empty after a while, but when you put fluid in it, you can bled the front brakes and they work without fault. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask!On May-25-11 at 18:39:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I will add pictures of the rusty areas and the interior tomorrow night.
