Selling my elegant long wheel base 1972 Mercedes Benz 280 SEL, 4.5 finished in light blue on black leather. It runs great. It has been taken care of evidenced by the stack of service records with the car. It has complete books and a service manual too for those do it yourself guys. The sunroof when opened up makes you feel like you are riding in a convertible. The door panels are nice. It has one small crack on the dash(see photo and video). The seats will need to be recovered. Leather cracks with time. The chrome is nice and shiney. All the trim pieces are accounted for. The wood on the lower inside windshield will need refinishing. The wood along the door windows are nice. The headliner is sagging at the rear window. The jack points and rockers are nice. The driver's side door has some surface rust(see photo and video), not rusted through. The 4.5 is registered as a 1973, however the production date is 6/72, see door vin plate. Nice 4.5's are getting harder to find in decent shape. This particular one has lived in California most of it's life and the taken to the dry desert of Nevada. It will not take much to make her stellar again. Drive her as she sits and restore at your leisure. It runs, drives and shifts great. Just made a three hour trip from Nevada to California without issue. Enjoy long wheel base looks without the headaches of the air suspension cars. The heater control levers are broken but still work.
