It's time to sell my wife's GMC Jimmy. We have owed this vehicle since it came off a lease in 2002 with 18,000 miles. The Jimmy and sister vehicle Chevrolet Blazer are smaller and far more economical than the Tahoe or Suburban but still built on a rugged truck chassis. Full perimiter frame and a 262 ci 4.3L V6 engine. The one I'm selling has the Vortec sequential fuel injection. This engine has a lot of power for towing but still gives reasonable fuel economy. ABS brakes, electronic 4WD, driver & passenger Air Bags its also a very safe and very stable vehicle. I added the Pioneer AM FM CD with 50 watts X 4 that sounds great. The radio face has a moving display and is removable for security. I've maintained this vehicle with Mobil 1 fully synthetic motor oil and I've also addressed all the typical issues these vehicles experience. If your looking to buy one of these vehicles make sure you ask if these items have been replaced or at least checked. Intake manifold gaskets, They all leak and the replacement gaskets from GM are the only ones to use. They are a retrofit gasket that corrects the weak areas of the old gaskets. They are solid aluminum with a very thick sealing area not like the plastic ones from your local parts store. The door hinge pins are also known to wear out quickly so if the door drops they need replacement. I replaced the Battery, Alternator, water pump, Intake Manifold gaskets, Radiator, Emissions AIR pump, Brakes, shocks, exhaust from the Cat back, Oil lines to the cooler and filter, Brake lines, Fuel lines,& fuel pump and hinge pins. I'm sure I've forgot something but you get the idea. When it was worn it was replaced. Now for the stuff I know it needs. I want you to be sure you know what I do about this veh BEFORE you bid on it. Tires, Look at the photos, They are high quality Michelin truck tires that pass inspection but I would replace them before winter. The brake pads, Calipers and rotors were serviced about 30,000 miles ago and work great. What I would suggest be done right now is the one CV joint boot. The boot is torn and should be replaced and joint serviced. This is a very simple fix for a weekend mechanic to slip in a reman unit. The transmission was serviced in November by the dealer. It shifts good, doesn't slip and pulls strong. Its just a little noisy when cold. Lets be realistic here. The vehicle has 126,377 miles and it has its share of squeeks, rattles, and noises as any older vehicle will have. Its also a very solid vehicle that will give many more years of service. I would invite anyone who is interested in this vehicle to inspect it or have someone inspect it for you before you bid on it. I've done my best to describe the vehicle for what it is. A good solid car for someone who has a child going to college or just needs a great handling veh in the snow so the summer car can be protected in your garage. If your handly around a car its a plus because any car of this age will need some attention. The body is in good condition but has the typical rust on the lower qtrs. The doors and fender are solid and the paint still shines very well. The body still retains all its original body panels and has bever been in a body shop. There is a scrape on the rear bumper corner from someone in a parking lot. Look at my photos and read my description and then check the others up for bid. When they only show 4 pictures and tell you little in the description you need to be careful. Please ask your questions before you bid.
