Vehicle Detail
A rare classic 1940 Plymouth PT 105 pickup. This is one of 703 built in Los Angeles. Build #394 6,730 were built in Detroit. I have a clear and current Nevada Title in my name. I’ve been building Hot Rods and Rat Rods for several years, so I’m not into restoring. I’m guessing about 85% maybe 90% complete. I believe it can be restored. Would make a nice street rod also. What impressed me about this truck when I first saw it , was the lack of rust. Just surface rust, and not a lot of that. Has been under a shed in the high desert of Nevada for 35+ years. Pretty dry climate in that region of Nevada. Started the engine when I got it in the shop. I was surprised at how good it runs. Transmission shifts nice and tight. Bled the brakes. Wheel cylinders are fine. Master cylinder needs rebuilt. Tranny shifts nice and tight. All the drive train is original and complete. All numbers match. There are some minor things missing or incorrect. All in all it’s a solid truck and in good shape. The lower part of the grill was missing. Fabricated a replacement piece. Front frame horns were repaired years ago, solid and well done. Took everything off but the cab and did some body work. A good body man can fine tune the sheet metal to make it nice. Dash needs some patching. Replaced the bed wood supports with steel. Took it down to the base coat and gave it a couple of coats of Dupont Primer so you can see what your looking at.The cab is straight. Driver door needs a little adjustment to make it perfect. Needs glass. All the regulators are there. Interior garnish mouldings are there and in good shape. Tires and wheels are not original. I’m sure I’ve missed something. So ask if you have any questions. Did some trading for this old classic, so I’ve set my reserve low at $2,800. Need to finish up another project that’s been sitting in wait.
