Vehicle Detail

This is a classic air cooled 1961 Volkswagen Beetle. The car came to me with a strong running 1600cc single carb motor with a complete and correct 6v to 12v conversion(except wiper motor, see below). The paint, seats and door panels were done by the previous owner. I was refurbishing this for my wife so a lot of work was done that might of waited for a later time. Just this week I installed the OEM hub caps with the cloisonne Wolfsburg logo and replaced the tail pipes which were starting to rust. Mileage shown is not actual, I have no idea how many miles are on the car. The car came to me with a fully functioning alarm system and 2 fobs. Upon my ownership, the engine was removed and the following was professionaly performed: NEW: king pins, link pins and bushings-front shocks-tie rod ends-steering box-steering dampner-clutch kit-clutch cable-main seal-front inner and outer roller bearings-transmission input seal-alternator-cross shaft w/bushings-rear shocks-bowden tube-rear transmission mount-axle boots-master cylinder-steering column bearing(now the horn works)-cap-rotor-plugs-condensor-valves adjusted-valve cover gaskets-body ground strap-brake fluid-oil and filter-other misc seals, hardware etc. USED: left axle tube-cable lever-horn-fabricated battery hold down REBUILT: 30PICT-1 carb Also had 2 new tires installed All of the above work was professionaly performed by a local air cooled VW specialist. I did the following: When I purchased the car there was a cheap aftermarket hood on it that was cracking. I found an original hood from a '63 and had it professionaly prepped and painted-new carpet kit-mud guards-OEM green steering wheel and horn ring-window seals-hood seal-engine cover seal-door seals-engine chrome-wheel trim rings-shift boot and pedal pads-aluminum door sill covers-emblems-sunvisors-new hood and engine cover pins and latches-chrome hood and engine cover hinges-OEM style AM radio and antenna-bamboo under dash shelf-6v to 12v wiper motor conversion-back up light and switch-fog lights and switch w/LED indicator-aluminum fender guards-crystal door knob shift 'knob'-volt meter-dash mounted clock-upgraded hood prop-battery cut out switch-lots of other misc little things. Sale includes a 1" thick file that includes paperwork for everything listed here and then some, an original owners manual-repair manual-spare fuel filters-hub cap puller-spare pair of wiper blades. I also have an e-file of a lot of before and after type pics as I worked on the car that the buyer can have if interested. The not so good: 2 pics show a couple of small dimple dents(they are not rust bubbles)-heater is not functioning, windshield washer system not functioning, driver side door lock is intact but there is no key for it(must have been changed at some point) This car is a strong runner, always fires right up, shifts as it should, no disappointments here. And, with all the work that has been done, you won't have to do a thing but put gas in it and drive. Fly in and drive home!
