Vehicle Detail

I have decided to sell this vehicle for personal reasons. The truck does make money hand over fist, and I know I'm going into prime season, but I am going through a separation and this truck has some memories I would rather not remember. Year: 1974 Make: AMC Model: FJ8A AM General Mileage: 71,237 Motor: 232 inline 6. A Jeep motor, commonly found in old CJ-6's and the like. The transmission will bolt to any 4.0 liter jeep motor as well. This motor only has 71,234 original miles. I have previous titles and maintenance records to prove it has not rolled over the odometer. This motor has all new plugs, wires, fuel pump, heater hoses, and a freshly rebuilt carb. Gets roughly 18 miles to the gallon on the open road, but in ice cream truck world we measure in gallons per hour. Most of your time is spent idling, so figure roughly 1 to 1.25 gallons per hour of use. Transmission: 3 speed auto on the column Upgrades: ANYTHING MARKED NEW IS LESS THAN 4 MONTHS OLD WITH LESS THAN 20 HOURS OF USE ON THEM NEW vinyl wrap, bright yellow, VERY visible (almost blinding) This wrap is not one single piece. It came on a roll, as you will be able to see on the facebook page photos. The areas where the vinyl would not stick to or were too small have been painted with a color matched paint. The roof is not painted or wrapped, but I would be willing to paint it before you pick the truck up if you wish. I will be providing roughly a half gallon of this paint to go with the truck. 32 song music box with outdoor horn speaker New gauges installed (oil pressure, temp gauge w/ new sending unit, and water temp) New fuel pump New spark plugs and wires Newly rebuilt carb New exhaust and intake manifold gaskets New tires (less than 200 miles on them) New Heavy duty deep cycle marine battery New Zero gauge wiring for power inverter New 300 amp fuse for power inverter (with spare) New 2,000/4,000 watt power inverter (more than enough to run the freezer) New Chest freezer from sears. (If you order more than $250 a month from Hersheys they will provide you with the freezer that I currently have in the truck. It is not mine to sell, and I will be including my own personal back up/storage freezer. This will come stocked with any remaining ice cream I have left. If you wish, you could start making your money back the minute you drive out of my driveway. New LED ice cream "cool blue" light for night sales or events. This truck has absolutely no stickers on it. I make all my signs at home using my personal photo printer and hot laminator. I print my signs on photo paper, and then laminate them to a magnetic sheet (which I will include a partially used roll for your use). If I run out of a product, I simply take down that magnet. If you wish to make another sign for Bob's Lawn service, then you now have a neon yellow lawn service truck. You can print multicolored circles and give your truck polka dots one day, and then give it zebra stripes the next. Very versatile and quick to change for different markets. Got a college ball game or a high school football game? Take off the polka dots, put on some team colors and memorabilia signs and you have a whole new look. It's a very "cute" truck for lack of a better word. Much better than the creepy cargo van guys. The body is not perfect, but it's close. There is some poorly done bodywork on the passenger side front quarter panel (which has been vinyl wrapped and is not on the business side of the truck). It's not ugly to look at, but I notice it simply because I spent hours on the truck trying to get it right. There is a 1' x 1' vent in the roof of the truck, I believe it is an RV vent. It was designed with a metal mesh screen and a plastic cover that goes up and down via a hand crank. While the crank still works and the frame goes up and down, the plastic cover is gone. I do not sell ice cream in the rain so this has never been an issue, but if you wanted to fix it I wouldn't expect the replacement plastic to cost you more than $25 at an RV parts store. The transmission shifts good, and has never given me a problem, but I have noticed a couple drops of tranny fluid where I park it sometimes which means that by the end of the season you should probably replace the seals. You are welcome to email me with any questions or concerns, or call me via my cell at 336-469-9630. I look forward to hearing from potential buyers. I have stacks of receipts to prove the money I have invested in this truck, as well as to verify how new the parts are. I have personally invested many hours of labor into the vehicle myself. If you wish to see pictures of how the truck looked when I bought it, and photos of the restoration process, click the link below to go to our facebook business page where you can browse the photos. The album titled "In the beginning" is the one with the most photos. Our Facebook Business Page I have also recently uploaded a video to youtube, where you can view the outside of the truck, the interior, the operation of the motor and transmission, hear how it runs, etc. For some reason, I stupidly forgot to include the music box playing but I assure you it does work. It contains 32 pre-programmed songs in a single unit with an outdoor horn speaker visible in the video. Video of the truck in action! There will be a REQUIRED $500 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction. This is non-refundable. This deposit can be made in cash, in person or via paypal. The remainder will be due in fill within 5 business days (By 5pm the following Friday 5/20/2011). The deposit is mine to keep, regardless of whether you decide to pay the remaining balance, so be sure before bidding. Should you come out and decide not to purchase the truck, then I am not going to be out of my time and money. You are more than welcome to come check the truck out in person should you be able, and if you have anything you would like me to take closer photos of if you are unable to come out, then just let me know and I will shoot them and email them to you. The truck is also for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early should the vehicle sell locally.
