MORE PICTURES WERE ADDED 5-17-2011 AT 5PM...The 1988 Fiero brought a new suspension design, thought by many to have a striking resemblance to those designed by Lotus, which at the time, was about to be acquired by GM. The suspension was never a Lotus design though: it was the suspension the Pontiac engineers had designed in the beginning, along with what they learned from the racing program. Up front were revised control arms and knuckles that reduced steering effort and improved the scrub radius. In the back, the old Citation parts were replaced with a real tri-link suspension with all new knuckles. This new suspension came with staggered wheel sizes on WS6 suspension equipped models, with 15-inch (380 mm) by 6-inch (150 mm) wide wheels up front and 15-inch (380 mm) by 7-inch (180 mm) wide wheels in the rear for improved handling balance and to offset the slightly increased front track that resulted from the improvements. Topping off the package were the new vented disc brakes at all four corners, which addressed another common complaint of road testers. A "Formula" option was added, which offered many of the GT features with the standard coupe body, including the 120 mph speedometer, WS6 Suspension (which includes offset crosslace rims) and the rear spoiler. 1988 marked the end of production for the Fiero, and is also considered to be the best Fiero produced. Improvements to suspension, brakes, steering, and improvements to both the four-cylinder and V6 engines took the car to a level far beyond the 1984 model that had received much criticism. Also 1988 was the only year a yellow exterior color was available from factory.....Offered for sale is my Fiero Formula with only 89k miles!!!....the car has the very quick 6 cylinder, with a 5 speed tranny.The car also has a tilt wheel,intermittent wipers,cruise control,sunroof,a/c and am/fm cassette.The a/c needs converted to 134a,and MAY be done by the end of the auction.There are a some paint chips by the sunroof,and the headlites,and the spoiler is a little faded,but the car shows quite well overall.I would buy a bra for the front of it.The interior and both front seats are like brand new.The car also has the rare roof panel that goes up where the sunroof is,and it is in the factory Fiero branded storage pouch.The car is only on a Ohio rebuilt salvage title, because I purchased it from an Akron area tow company,as it was impounded and never claimed by the owner.That tow company had it for just over 5 years,and I finally got it away from him,as he was probably having too much fun with it.Anyway,it has had the OSP inspection,and is on an Ohio rebuilt salvage title now,so its all set to drive and enjoy.SPECIAL PAYMENT TERMS OPTION...To help with those of you waiting on tax refunds or for your car to sell,I can offer this.Upon winning the auction,50% is due within 3 days.Then the balance MUST be paid within 60 days.
