Vehicle Detail

Thanks for coming to check out this auction! I have an excellent reputation & positive feedback rating on eBay, so you can bid with confidence on my items. Please be sure to view all of the super-sized photos and read the entire description before bidding on this auction. Thank you. Shown here is a straight, solid virtually rust-free, low mile 1961 Ford Unicab F-100 pickup riding on a '76 Ford Ranchero car chassis with dual master-cylinder power-disc brakes, rebuilt C-4 Automatic transmission, and a stout 9 inch rear axle! A later model 5.0 liter H.O. (302 cubic inch) V8 was warmed over and installed between the frame rails. It has a Holley Double-Pumper 4-Barrel Carburetor, tube-style racing exhaust headers, a mild-cam, Edlebrock aluminum high-rise intake manifold, high-performance electronic ignition, Mickey Thompson finned aluminum valve covers and more! It's got dual turbo-mufflers, so it's not real loud, but it's got a nice, healthy sounding growl, and is a sweet running engine! It also has power-steering. ...read on! The truck was primarily designed/built as a drag/street machine with functional cowl-induction hood, electric engine cooling fan, shaved windshield-wipers, Suntune gauges inside (big tach with a shift-light), front fenderwells & heater core eliminated as-well-as both bumpers shaved (all for weight reduction), battery box and fuel cell located in the rear (for weight distribution over the drive-wheels), and so on... The tailgate was welded & filled shut with custom skin fabricated to create smoothed out body-lines in the rear. The tanneau cover is built on a removeable, 3-part hinged-lid frame, so you can still haul cargo in the bed (probably not sheetrock or plywood, but smaller parts n' stuff). The 9" rearend has high : ratio gears in it presently (for very civil-mannered interstate cruising & decent MPGs), but if you swapped them out for a set of low gears, this thing would really be a screamer on 0-60 acceleration! Some other custom touches the builder of this truck did are: real-wood steering wheel on a tilt-column, shaved rain gunnels (for a cleaner, smoothed look), removed all trim & filled the holes, totally customized the hood opening, so the cowl no longer breaks up the smooth top of the fender... a custom aluminum grill was added, and factory grill opening sculped... Custom front & rear roll pans were built (unfortunately, the front one has some curb damage, Grrrr!, but it appears most of it could be covered up with a license plate bracket, or even better yet, put bumpers back on to totally take care of it without having to re-paint the front of the truck). There's a minor scrape down at the bottom on the driver's side rear corner as well (see close up pictures). The paint job is very recent, and there are a few runs in it. It looks very decent otherwise though, and is certainly nice enough for a driver or to park in car shows, etc. The body-work on this truck is lazer-straight, but unfortunately the previous owner stuck a straw up inside the bottom of the custom tailgate skin & sprayed Fill-n-Foam in there (to elimiate a rattle)... Well, the noise stopped, but the expanding-foam expanded far enough that it pushed the lower tailgate skin out warping it a little bit in the center/down at the bottom (you can see it in some of the pictures). I know that pin-stripes are popular again now, and the painter went kinda wild with all the pin-striping, as there are little bits of it all over the truck (inside & out). It's very well done, but if you don't care for that look, it could be removed with laquer-thinner (and a lot of elbow-grease) as it's just striping-enamel... The rest of the paint is a durable, eurethane automotive finish, and is a nice hue of metallic blue. The interior is pretty simple on this truck with no door cardboards or headliner, but has nice, new carpet, decent seats with no-rips, a detachable-face JVC am/fm CD stereo head unit, as well as engine temp, battery & oil pressure gauges. All the lights and turn signals work, and all the glass is good (no cracks or milking). This truck is a joy to drive, and very reliable/road worthy (a great interstate cruiser). It drives straight down the road (good alignment), and tracks/handles excellently. The '76 Ranchero undercarriage is stock ride height front and rear, and the suspension has not been lowered, so it's got a nice, smooth Car-Like ride (not rough & bouncy like a slammed truck chassis would be), and the power disc brakes stop the vehicle beautifully. Also, it appears that the disc-rotors & pads are new (among other things). Radiator looks great, steering knuckles, ball joints, A-arm bushings, etc etc are all tight and in great shape. Under the hood was clean-as-a-pin when we got the truck, and it appears to only have been driven in nice weather since being built into a street-rod (though there's Rain-X on the windshield in case of precipitation). We took it in on a trade just exactly as it sits for a '56 Plymouth we had previously. The only thing we added are the 18" & 20" Boss 338 wheels and low-profile tires. I think they look fabulous on the truck. If you want to keep them, you will need to add $1,100.00 to the final bid/sale price. If you desire a different look you will have to bring along 4 of your own wheels/tires with the small Ford 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern to swap over for transport. ... Just thought I'd throw that option out on the table for what it's worth. Thanks for looking, and if you have further questions, you may e-mail me through eBay, or call my partner mechanic/bodyman at (641) 512-5229. He can tell you whatever else you need to know about the truck, or meet you or another mechanic for an inspection & test-drive. Check out what other comparable vehicles are selling for on eBay, and you'll see that this is an excellent opportunity to own a sweet, classic street-rod pickup with rare body-style, lots of modern upgrades, and all the hard work already done for you at a great price! Ford only built the uni-cab pickup in this one body-style (1961-1965), and to my knowledge no other company ever did a truck like this! Check out my renderings in the web-album of my version of a removable-top, full-size Bronco-style convertible! Somebody please build one!!! Here's your candidate to start with! If we didn't already have so many projects in the works, we'd start cutting the roof off and divider panel out imediately and go to work on making this thing into even more of a wild custom! IMPORTANT! ** By bidding on this item (or otherwise agreeing to purchase the vehicle), you acknowledge that it is being sold AS IS with no warranty implied or expressed, and that I require a $250.00 security deposit via PayPal or money order sent to myself: Jesse Wunderlich, 15791 Nettle Ave., Mason City, IA 50401 within 5 days of auction’s end, and the remaining balance of the vehicle is to be paid for in full within 10 days. If coming to pick it up in person, then I ask that you bring cash for the remainder of payment, otherwise if having the vehicle shipped, a Wells Fargo, US Bank or Bank of America cashier’s check is acceptable. If you can’t get the vehicle picked up right away, storage for a reasonable amount of time may be an option, but please ask before you bid, and remember that the vehicle must be paid for in full within 10 days of auction’s end whether it has been picked up yet or not. The reason I request National Chain banks is that I can go right down to one of our local branches here in Mason City and cash the note right away without having to wait for a 10 day hold from another bank. This way, I can just send the title right out to you, and there’s no waiting for funds to clear. This helps with those having a vehicle transported as well, because naturally I cannot release a vehicle to an auto shipper if the payment is not cleared. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding. ANY0NE FAILING T0 PAY THE DEPOSIT, 0R WH0 D0ESN'T PAY FOR THEIR ITEM W0N AT AUCTI0N WITHIN THE SPECIFIED TIMEFRAME I REQUIRE; W1LL M0ST CERTA1NLY RECE1VE A N0N PAY1NG B1DDER MARK...the item will be re-listed... and I will b1ock them from bidding on any of my future auctions. eBay suspends members after 2 N0N-PAY1NG B1DDER STR1KES. Also, please note, security deposits are considered non-refundable. If you intend to have this vehicle shipped with a car carrier, the auto transporters I have contact info for are as follows: Atlas Auto Transport (888)285-2706, David Irving 763-441-3796, Larry Baker 605-484-6949 There’s also one called D.A.S. (Dependable Auto Shippers) with a shipping dock out of Altoona, Iowa (about 2&½ hours from us here in Mason City) 800 826-1083. DAS has some finicky policies such as no contents in the car other than what will fit in the trunk (i.e. extra wheels & parts), and they won’t dribble gas into a carburetor or jump start a battery to get a vehicle started without charging you an additional fee (even if it’s 20 below zero outside), so beware of this kind of thing with them.
