I have up for auction a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo; It drives and runs well, and it also looks great for the mileage! The Good: it is a 4x4 with selectable four wheel drive; which means it is not always in four wheel drive like some jeeps. It drives and runs very well with no known mechanical issues. It has the famed 4.0 liter engine that is one of the best engines Chrysler/Jeep ever made! It also has a cold air intake system and sits on 31x10.50 tires that have good tread life. The air and heat work very well; It has a CD Player with bluetooth connectivity and also links directly with your Ipod or MP3 player. The Not As Good: The main issue that this jeep has is high mileage, it has 208,000 miles on it. Other little things are there is a dent in on the back passenger doors and there are a few tears in the drivers leather seat (though I do have seat covers on it) Also the back windshield wiper does not work and the back hatch won't stay open on its own. These are all rather easy fixes I just have not had time to do so.The only possibly big issue is that the tranny is starting to show signs of aging... It shifts pretty good but might need some TLC... Misc notes about Jeep: Non smoker though previous owner did smoke so there is a little hint of smoke smell; It gets about 16 MPG in town and almost 20 on the highway. Also the four wheel drive works great.
