Vehicle Detail
1967 CAMARO RS/SS REAL RALLY SPORT CAR, AND BELIEVED TO BE A REAL SUPER SPORT AS WELL...see notes IT WAS ORIGINALLY A 4 SPEED CAR, AND THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS STILL IN THE CAR 12 BOLT POSI REAR DIFFERENTIAL DISC BRAKES STEEL COWL HOOD GORGEOUS PAINT POLISHED CENTERLINE WHEELS SLIGHTLY CUSTOMIZED, BUT TASTEFUL, INTERIOR Offered for sale is a first year Camaro...and it's a real RS. The trim tag shows the code for a Rally Sport, and since the SS Camaros made in Norwood didn't get an SS code until October of 1967, this car built in January of 1967 wouldn't have it on there. The car was bought from the niece of the original purchaser, and she swears it's a real RS/SS. He is no longer around to ask if it's true...but we have no reason to believe it isn't. If anyone has any additional information, and it's verifiable facts that I can pass along to other bidders/buyers, please let me know. PLEASE don't send info that you THINK proves it to be a real SS. The paint and body are excellent. They aren't perfect, but you'll have a hard time finding one that is. It looks nice from every angle, and is not one of those 20-footer cars. It looks great up close as well. It has it's normal nicks and scratches, and a bad spot here and there..but overall, its great. Nothing needs to be addressed in the near future. The paint has been on it for several years, so if anything was going to pop through, it would have already. The stripes are under the clear, and it's a really nice paint job. The stainless and chrome are in excellent condition. Nice glass, and the window regualtors all work well. The doors lock, but they don't unlock with the key. The round key opens the trunk, but not the doors. The interior has seats from a later 70's Camaro, and the material isn't original style...but it was done well and looks good. The trim pieces around the inside of the front and back glass is missing. Nothing else The shifter is obviously not original, because the car was a 4 speed from the factory. The clutch pedal is still in the car if someone wanted to convert it back, which I think someone should do. The dash and the interior of the doors are painted a nice gloss black. The radio is missing. The speedometer, fuel, temperature and oil pressure gauges work well, but the volt gauge doesn't. Also, the horn doesn't work. The transmission is a 350 turbo with what feels like a 3000 stall converter. No issues, and works well with the 454. The 454 sounds awesome. Not just because the exhaust ends halfway under the car, but because it has a nice, choppy lope from the big cam. It runs well just as it is---it has a big holley, ceramic coated headers, aluminum intake, and runs cool from the big aluminum radiator. The engine needs nothing. It has less than 5000 miles on it and should have many years and miles of life left in it. The battery is relocated in the trunk. The 12 bolt rear is a posi, and has a gear ratio of somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.31:1, so it makes it driveable at higher speeds. It has plenty of power, so no need for a low geared rear end to make it feel stronger. If you have additional questions, please ask. If you need more photos or something clarified, please let me know. I'm selling this for a 63 year old friend of mine who no longer needs it. I can get you in touch with him if you need to speak with him directly. I have the car and the title in my possession. It will remain that way until payment has been made in full. Feel free to send someone to inspect the car if you are not close by. There's nothing to hide here...it is what it is. Theres no need to lie about anything. Real RS 67 Camaros are valuable, big block ones are even more valuable, so with a Reserve Price under $20,000...you can't go wrong. Please call or text me at 941-740-2277, or email me through ebay or directly to my email at northshorebill@aol.com. Good luck, and happy bidding.
