This 1939 BMW R71 was imported from East Germany in the mid 90's. It last ran in 1997. It does turn over and has good compression. It is also set up for a side car and does have eastern block/soviet parts on the bike.On May-03-11 at 07:47:44 PDT, seller added the following information: This bike is up for sale locally and auction may end early.On May-06-11 at 08:23:03 PDT, seller added the following information: I checked over my bill of sales and the bike was purchased in January of 1999 and that was the last time bike ran. When I purchased this bike it was represented as a 1939 BMW R71 and therefore listed as such. This bike will be sold "as and where is" and that the goods are free and clear of all encumbrances but makes no representations and gives no warranties as to merchantability of the goods or as to fitness for any particular purpose or as to their safe use. I have recieved several e mails with regards to the authenticity of this bike and therefore will state " I do not represent nor can I guarantee that this bike is 100% authentic".
