For auction is a 1979 Triumph Bonneville special ,10,120 miles id # t140daa17673 ,this is a numbers matching 95% original bike ,very unmolested, clear Florida title . First the minuses, its 32 years old , There is one small ding on the tank about the size of a dime paint not cracked. The paint on the tank is somewhat crazed but glossy ,pin stripes in good shape ,We think it just adds to the patina of the bike. If it has been sitting for along time it will blow a little smoke ,most likely valve seals as it has lots of compression . It has amal 2 carbs ,so anyone who knows Trumps knows what we mean , We just replaced upper throttle cable the slides looked ok and carbs need to be synced ,its possible that they might need to have smaller jets I thought it always ran a bit rich, We run ngk plugs a range hotter . The turn signals do not work bulbs are good ,new flasher ,we never messed with them just used hand signals .It needs an upper brake line for front brakes to work ,master has been rebuilt all other lines purged and tight , Tires are so-so It will need new ones eventually ,we were going to put them on but circumstances have intervened , we have only ridden it 1500 miles in 2 years , there is some rust and oxidizing on the frame but minimal.Does it leak oil?come on its a 32 year old trumpytrumpytrumpy! not too much primary case after running awhile . Valves tick a little ,once again its a32 year old Trumpy they were adjusted 500 miles ago .There is some drive line slack ,could be old chain or primary needs to be adjusted , new owner will have to see to that. Pluses; Its a 32 year old suvivior ,cases have never been off ,not that we can see ,all the lights work with the exception of the turn signals as noted above .It has not been molested it runs good ,especially from 35-95 mph (30mm amals dont like to idle well), it shifts fine , clutch is ok cosidering its original , back brakes are fine ,oil changed every 500 miles while we have had it . The lucas ignition system works great , no thats not a typo every thing is original as far as we can tell electronic ignition , coils , spark plug wires with champion stamped on them , We put a pcv valve on the breather much better than spitting oil into intakes , seat is perfect , we have original exahaust , but short megaphone sounds great.Front master cylinder has been just rebuilt ,needs top brake hose ,Klempf's British parts are the people we deal with ,great folks, also new air filters Know what you are bidding on ! this is a great bike for the right person ,no warranty expressed or implied no returns all sale is final ! 200.00 dollar paypal deposit ,the rest by certified check , or cash if picked up .when check clears title will be mailed bike will be released ,buyer to be responsible for all shipping charges ,we may be able to take bike to main road to help with delivery but that will depend on smooth and quick sale .Once bike is sold no further price adjustments will happen. Ran him up to 50mph. carbs are still a little rough at idle but the always have been since Ive owned him, they always smooth at at 2000. Overall a great spring ride, You will not be disappointed!!!!!
