Vehicle Detail
Please Note "Revised Comments" since original ad inserted in it's appropriate location!! Re-listed with a lower starting price as I need to sell this vehicle. I have 6 vehicles so a downsizing is in order. This '91 E34 M5 is in great mechanical condition with no known body rust. The motor pulls strong and the gearbox shifts fine with no synchro problems. The body is in great condition and all panels appear to have the original panel numbers. Paint still shines with no clear coat issues even though Sterling Silver and only some typical minor chips and scratches. Rims are 17" x 8" Racing Dynamics with Sumitomo 245/45/17s with only approx. 4500 miles. Full Euro clear turn signals and side markers installed recently. The dash is in great shape with only one minor crack approx. 10mm in length on the RH side of the radius above the dash. All fluids were changed and some with synthetics including the brake system flush. Rebuilt water pump and alternator with new belts and new distributor/rotor cap replaced. K & N air filter. Self Leveling System was changed to standard shocks. The motor and drive train appears to have no major leaks. Clutch shifts great with no synchro issues and has a Short Shift Kit. New steering system center link installed. All work performed while I owned was performed soon after the purchase by myself. Fresh oil and filter. I just noticed today while performing the compression test that apparently the radiator has been rebuilt as well sometime as there's a shop tag on top of the radiator indicating such. Leather seats have some cracked leather, headliner sags and A/C needs charged but has been changed to R134a. Radio is not operating as Previous Owner removed his after market system and needs a replacement unit. Not certain of other items and car is sold as is. Just noticed the date on the fotos are incorrect as I did not reset the date on the camera which were taken before posting. I have 3 'M's at the time which is tooo many. I know these cars as I've owned the big block 'M's of this era continously since 1989 as well as instructed for BMW CCA since '92. Any questions, please email me. BTW, no offers for the other 2 'M's as they're only posted for reference only. Too much money in these two. Finally got her out after several months and this car still runs great. After warm up, I did a compression check (finally) with 3 runs per cylinder and each had consistant readings +/- 1 - 2 #'s: Cylinder PSI #1 180# #2 180# #3 175# #4 175# #5 175# #6 180# All the spark plugs are burning as expected. NOTE: You're wondering why the guy who won the bid the first time did not consumate the business deal and so am I. He just bailed and NEVER gave a reason as to why he defaulted on his obligation to pay. I can only ascertain from what he told me that he already has two E34 M5s and decided after the close of auction that he didn't want 3. But I'll never know as he won't return any phone calls and yes, I was a little stern in my messages if he was going to purchase the car or not with no reply at all from him. Read his angered feedback and my others and you be the judge. Frankly, if things were not changing as they are for myself, I'd keep this car! I realise the milage descrepancy and am trying to provide full disclosure due to the odometer reading to the best of my knowledge. You can't hide the history report and I didn't want somebody procuring this car without informing the odo reading as shown and indicated. After the cross country delivery, I've only driven the car a little over 2000 miles with 2 trips included. On May-08-11 at 07:02:28 PDT, seller added the following information: If time permitting, I will attempt to check the A/C this week even after the sale which may be caused by a slow leak at probably an oring connection. The A/C was blowing cool when purchased but never used since as the only time the car was used was during cold weather and the heater works fine. I do remember the compressor was engaging at the time. I never got to use this car much as I was gone for over a year while owning this car. That's the main reason for the few miles on the car under my ownership as well. Corrections: realise - realize descrepancy - discrepancy
