This was a hot rod that ran around here in Cherokee County, Oklahoama way back in the '70s. It's still got the '59 Chevy steering wheel and side mirrors. The front bumper is missing, but this was a popular method of lightening the front end, plus it made it look more like a gasser. The (rusty) chrome reversed rims and little hubcaps are straight out of the '70s. The chrome is rusted on most of the rims, one looks pretty good though. The hubcaps aren't rusty, they're aluminum, but they are kind of dent-y. The passenger door latch isn't functioning. The engine and transmission are long gone, as are both the seats. But everything else, even the windshield wipers, is there. All the glass is good except the passenger side wing window (for which there's a replacement) and rear side glass which is cracked from a bb ding. The rear bumper is rusty in the center and one of the bumper guards has a gunch in it. Rust-through in one headlight eybrow, (bondo on the other) drivers side behind the door, and the passenger side rocker panel. (see pictures). There's 1970's bondo work in a few places, and in some it's cracking and falling off. Besides that, the body is straight. The only dent is in the fender over the passenger side taillight. Even the chrome tag-surround is pure '70s. (If you look closely at that picture, you can read the 1977 Oklahoma license plate. Moving to the interior, the floors are rusted through in the front, and on the passenger side, where the wing window was missing, the rust continues just past the rear of the door. All the door panels are present and I've left them just as I found them. The headliner is long gone, but the rods are still up there. All I've really done is clean the years of crap out of it. Trunk floor is good, the spare well is rusted through. The '59 steering wheel looks good, along with the extra 2-gauge cluster, with oil pressure and temp gauges. I'm not sure, but I don't think the interior panels are stock. They look kind of '70s as well. There's even bits of shag carpet stuck on the floor here and there. The underhood picture is three pictures merged together. I was very tempted to rat-fix the floor, stick a motor and trans in it and drive it like it is. But we all know it's not quite that simple, and besides, I already have a traditional Model A highboy project sucking up all my spare change. Speaking of spares, all the keepable stuff that was inside of it is going along as well: '55 radiator, drive shaft, dipstick, a strip of chrome I think from the interior, the replacement wing window, and a set of rams horn exhaust manifolds, complete with maybe a generator bracket(?) attached to one of them. I bought this car from the son of the full-blood Cherokee owners. They couldn't find the title, or keys or anything car-related for it, so I had to apply for lost title, advertise and blah blah blah, now I have a clear "Classic" Oklahoma title. Car is located about 1 hour east and slightly south of Tulsa Oklahoma. Two hours southwest of Joplin Missouri, a little over 4 hours north of Dallas Texas.
