Here I am selling a 1969 Laverda 750 American Eagle. This bike was meticulously restored approx. 10 years ago and has been stored in a climate controlled environment ever since. The Odometer reads only 1855.7 miles since the restoration! With the exception of the very short lived 650cc…The 1969 750 American Eagle is considered Laverda’s first “Big Bike”. Laverda’s history goes back to the late 1800’s when they were producing farm implements. Always having a reputation of producing strong, lasting machinery… the 750 American Eagle IS NO EXCEPTION! With no less than 5 main bearings and an extremely well built electric starter… this bike is considered by many to be indestructible! Laverda’s Motorcycle history started in the late 40’s with its first 75cc bike. In the early 50’s Laverda was proving itself on the race track, and continued with a very long successful racing history! Always known as a winning bike that would not die! If you look close at the photos of this bike you can see that the restorer of this motorcycle spared no expense, and knew exactly what he is was doing! All the way down to the original Laverda Mufflers and KONI fenders! The beautiful maroon color was also matched to an original paint sample! This bike also comes with the original “American Eagle” tank badges. The inside of the motor was gone through just a well as what you can see in the photos! I am starting this auction with an extremely realistic starting price and no reserve. There is no way you could even consider restoring this bike for this money… even if you got the original project bike for free!!! Read upside down or not, this is still a beautiful bike!!!On May-03-11 at 09:18:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Just so that all interested parties know... The owner of the bike just put a fresh battery and gas in the bike, and it fired right up! He ran it down the road and all is perfect! I think he's falling in love with it again! ;-)
