1989 HONDA CB1 Very Nice Condition !! I am selling my VERY NICE 1989 HONDA CB1 400cc 4 Cylinder. This Rare bike was only produced for 2 years. You will have a hard time finding one nicer and cleaner that this one. Those of you that know what this bike is; I do not need to tell you anything else. The rest of you; this is a 14,000 RPM Dual Overhead Gear Driven Camshaft, 6 Speed Screamer. Please Google Search this bike for detailed information. This is the same motor used in the CBR400 sold in the Asian markets. I have ridden CBR600s and really prefer the handling and performance of the CB1, especially on a twisty road. I am in my mid 50s and have owned this bike for almost 20 years. I am the second owner. I take meticulous care of this bike. I thought that I would never get rid of it, but after I put it up on the rack to replace the fork seals, and it has sat there for 3 seasons, I figure it is time to let it go to a new home. I have other bikes taking up my time right now. As stated, I just replaced the fork seals and wipers. While I had it on the stand, I replaced the front tire also. It has not even been on the road yet. The rear tire, chain and sprockets are almost new as well. I replaced the sprockets only because I wanted to gear it a little higher. I will include the original sprockets. I also just installed a New OEM Honda air filter. The tank is beautiful! There are no dents or scratches in the tank or aluminum side panels. The seat is perfect. All of the plastic is in good condition with no cracks or breaks. The front fender is excellent. The rear tail section has some light scratches on the lower sides from bungee cords that occurred before I owned the bike. The previous owner covered this area with clear contact paper to protect it from additional rubbing. He also put clear contact paper on the back edge of the tank to protect it from scratches. It has worked fine so I never removed any of it. Buy It Now Option: The New Stainless Exhaust, NOS Side Covers, and (2) Spare wheels with good Metzler tires are ONLY Included with the Buy It Now option. The SS exhaust is made for the CB1 motor in a modified frame. The mid pipe mount would need to be moved a few inches forward to match the the stock mount. A small dent occurred at the back of the can during shipping. It is in the very backside and cannot be seen. Each of the side motor covers had just the slightest scratches on them before I bought this bike. You would have to get up close and examine these covers to see the light scratches so I never replaced them. However, being the perfectionist that I am, I have purchased NOS Covers for both sides and will include them with this sale. These parts are no longer available from Honda. The buy it now option will also include a nice set of OEM Honda wheels with good Metzler tires on them. Again, above described SS Exhaust, (2) NOS side covers, and set of spare wheels are only included in the BUY IT NOW Option. I will include new photos of spare wheels as well as some close ups in the next day or two. I have lots of new and used parts for this bike, including a motor with only 1700 miles on it. I can negotiate for any these parts with the buyer if interested. This is a Very Nice, Very Clean, Very Cool Vintage Sport Bike! It will actually qualify for "Historic Plates" in 4 years. It has been a wonderful bike for me. It has a clear Ohio title, original tool kit , original owners manual, and factory OEM service manual. While I was replacing the air filter I took a photo of the carbs and underside of the tank area to show just how clean this bike is. I also included a photo of the spare wheels. The tires seem OK, but I never had these wheels on a bike. Both wheels come with the disc brake mounting bolts. Additionally, these photos show this bike without the bar end weights.
