Here is a very unique and well cared for 1986 Corvette Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Convertible. This striking Corvette was an actual track car used at the 70th Indy 500 race on May 25th, 1986. While the actual car that led the race was Yellow, there were a few Red cars used for VIPs and race car drivers known as Festival Cars, this is one of a handful of those cars. This Car was borrowed from Hoble Chevrolet in Indianapolis, Indiana for the 70th running of the Indianapolis 500, I have the original window sticker showing this. Car sold new for $35,725. I purchased the car in 2004 from the original owner. In 2005 I had a $6,000 professional paint job applied due to some problems with the clear coat on the rear of the car. The car has only been driven 6,000 miles since the repaint and spends most of it's time in the garage. The beautiful Bright Red paint is still in show condition and still looks deep and wet, super straight body. The Bright White Top is in excellent condition as well and I believe it is the original, back window is clear and scratch free as is the front windshield and side glass. The Bright Red Interior is in very good condition but does have some wear on the driver's side seat bolster from getting in and out. Originally the car had the Indy 500 decals on it from 1986-2005 but I opted not to put them on the car after the repaint, but the new owner can easily have them put back on. Car has a super running 5.7 liter Tuned Port Injection motor with Automatic Transmission, A/C, power windows and locks, power leather sport seats, power mirrors, tilt, cruise and AM/FM Cassette Stereo. The engine has Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil. Wheels are in great shape and tires only have 5,000 miles on them, also has new shocks, heater core and new mufflers with chrome tips, car sounds great. This is a very tight, fantastic driving C4 ragtop. Only 69,000 Actual miles! This is the most striking color combination on any Corvette and the hardest to find. I have photos of the car when I purchased it in 2004 showing how nice a car it was, no accidents, 100% original and unmodified. Headlights work perfectly as well. I have the original Owner's manual and books, Actual race day Indy Pace Car License Plate, Pit Pass, Garage Pass, Admission ticket, Gate Ticket, Window Sticker and more that will go to the new owner.
