1959 Triumph Trophy

A highly desirable and very collectable late 1950’s Triumph Trophy 650 TR6. 1959 Triumph 650 TR6 engine with 1957 frame and gearbox. The engine has ONLY 2 hrs on an overhauled with 0.060" pistons, 3134 cams, bearings, new primary chain, overhauled transmission, overhauled mag, new swing arm bearings, tapered fork stem bearings, metal profile forks, 21" front wheel cover, new front and rear tires, new rear chain, TR5T seat, lights and horn. Actual mileage unknown, but there is about 100 miles on the overhauled engine. The bike works and is a strong runner. Engine, gearbox and clutch work properly. This was purchased from a Triumph collector that built this bike for his own trail bike. I purchased it to eventually have it professional restored, but due to some major life changes, this project is no longer in my immediate scope. This bike is truly an awesome machine and is a great start for a total restoration, an awesome trail bike or AHRMA racer. I’m not a bike guy or knowledgeable about the Triumph bikes, only a vintage bike collector, but I’ll do my best to answer any and all questions. Engine is stamped with number TR6 026711. What I do know is that fully restored, the bike can fetch between $15,000 to $17,000!!. A pretty reasonable investment if you have the time and knowledge to complete a proper restoration, or at a minimum a great daily runner, trail bike or racer. Considering the bike is almost 55 years old, it’s in great shape and runs strong. As a bonus, I will include 3 new Triumph related books, (a Haynes manual, a parts manual and a restoration guide, and an awesome new Triumph black ball cap with an original Triumph embroidered logo). $250 worth of stuff, FREE. Front wheel brake measures about 6 inches in outside diameter. The exhaust pipes come from each cylinder head and are then spliced and welded together into one single exhaust with bafflings at the exhaust pipe end.On Apr-19-11 at 07:16:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Bike does not have turn signals. Front headlight light and rear tail light are powered by a re-chargeable battery that is located on the opposite side of the oil reservoir. Front headlight is from unknown year and make of bike.
