This is my beautiful and rare 1983 Mercedes-Benz 240D Diesel sedan. This is my absolute favorite car in the entire world! This classic is a prime example of the true statement of Mercedes Benz Quality! This car is absolutely exceptional in every way. This car has been meticulously restored to prime condition. I had planned on owning this car for the rest of my life, but this economy has hit my family very hard, I have been unemployed for almost a year, I am now in dire straits to pay the mortgage and keep the lights on, and this is the saddest decision I have had to make. I will miss this prize so much, I cannot even believe she will leave our family. This is one of the finest Mercedes diesels I've ever encountered. My beloved Benz has never had an accident. This car is the famous W123 body style, sedan. With original Mercedes Benz blue vinyl interior. This car has a rare 4 speed Manual transmission. The exterior has been restored to new! I spent over $5,000 on having it restored and painted at a Mercedes Benz Paint shop. I have the original maintenance stamped book from the Mercedes Benz dealer. The car is equipped with the powerful OM616 (2.4L) 4 cylinder Diesel engine (gets over 30mpg on highway), smooth like silk 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, huge sliding power sunroof and original Euro Becker AM/FM radio (Restored to NEW!). I have all the owner's manuals. This car is completely rust free and is unbelievably clean in every respect. It has the original MB First Aid Kit in the back, still full. This is a non smoking car. All windows are manual crank (never break). Power passenger side mirror works like new. All the wood dash trim is in great shape. The interior is completely original and is in beautiful shape. It comes with a full size spare tie on matching MB Aluminum rim + the expensive Mercedes Benz Tire and extra tools in a little pouch. The underside is completely solid and very clean. These cars are extremely collectible since they have the classic Mercedes look, yet the incredible durability and fuel economy of the 4-cylinder diesel. This car will get somewhere around 40mpg. The Odometer, Clock and All gauges function properly. Current amount of KMs on Odometer: 266,000 KMS (166,684 miles). This car is peppy and fun to drive, contrary to what you might think for a diesel- the 4-speed manual transmission really livens the car up. The car starts up perfectly every time, and it is smooth and powerful - it runs like a swiss watch. This car could drive cross-country tomorrow. These 240Ds are known to last over 1,000,000 miles! This is an appreciating investment - these cars are increasing in value every year. Buy this one and pass it down to your children. I had been restoring the interior to new, but there are a few things I was unable to get to restoring: I wanted to replace the power sunroof, with a Manual sunroof, so I bought a complete manual sunroof unit from another 1983 240d, (included in the sale) and its ready to go, all you have to do is swap them. Also, last summer the AC slowly stopped blowing cold air, so all it needs is a quick recharge. There is only 1 small tear (Last year) in the driver’s seat (easily repairable).
