Vehicle Detail

You are looking @ a Beautiful 1956 Thunderbird finished in Raven Black! This vehicle was a frame off restoration in 2003 & now has less than 8600 miles since then. This is an original Arizona car & was first registered in July 1956. The restoration was done by Ron Bondie of Scottsdale, Az. The body is as close to perfect as you can find, & has been garaged, covered, & mostly driven on Sunny days in the Southwest. This is also the same year & color that Marilyn Monroe & Arthur Miller, the playwright, avoided the photographers in, just after they were married in the late fifties. The Continental Kit leaves alot of room in the trunk for your girls luggage, so you can leave town on a long weekend & have room for your shave kit. And if you recall, since this car has a 'bench seat', you can do an S.O.B. turn (a hard right), if your 'new girl' is hugging the right door. Remember that SOB means Slide Over Babe, & she will be sitting next to you.... OPTIONS: There are many... 312 CI, 225 HP, Y-Block, V-8 Holley 4 Barrel Carburetor (not the original, this is good) 'Master Glide' Power Steering Power Front Disk Brakes Power Windows Power Seats Air Conditioning (not the original, but looks the same) Back-Up Lights AM-FM, 10 Disc CD-Changer Black Hardtop (Fiberglass-90lb), With Port-Holes - the First Year Engine Dress-Up Kit Continental Kit (Standard for This Year Only) Convertible Black Top - Hearts Cloth Dual Wind Wings Dual Side Mirror's Dual Exhaust - the Original System 1957 'Style' White Interior, Black Carpet Dual Rear Fender Skirts ALSO INCLUDED: 5 Kelsey Hayes Wire Wheels 4 Coker Wide WhiteWall RADIAL Tires 1 Bias Ply Tire In The C-Kit ( Flat? Call AAA, Its Faster ) 3 White Seat Belts Auxiliary Electric Fuel Pump Oil Filter Upgraded To A 1957 Style Engine Fan Upgraded To 7 Blades Custom Fit Cotton Car Cover Original Front Brake Parts Original Steel Wheels Rolling Hard Top Cradle EXTERIOR: The restoration of this car, started with an Arizona car, with low mileage, no rust, & all its original body panels, per the previous owner. The Body is straight, & very close to perfect. At the end of the restoration, the odometer was reset to zero, & when I bought the car in the summer of 2006, it had just 3500 miles on it. It now has approximately 8600 miles w/in the last 5 yrs. There is a flaw in the lower part of the drivers door, small, but you can see it. Also on the front bumper the chrome has a flaw on the left side, top, on the trailing edge, as the metal points toward the rear of the car. On the hardtop, I changed out the rear glass, because it had some scratches. The new glass also matches the tint in the port hole windows. The dual exhaust tips were not run thru the bumper, as with the original, but pointed down to protect the chrome, & save time cleaning it. This car gets lots of looks, & thumb's - up, from all age groups. A great beach cruiser, or Boulvard Cruiser INTERIOR: The all white interior, except for the carpets, is a great contrast to the Black Body. Its much closer to the 1957 style interior. All the gauges work, & I did have to have the fuel gauge adjusted, found out it was empty @ a quarter of a tank. The steering wheel is the original, & does have some cracks. The cigarette lighter looks new, I've never used it, & there is a plaque on the dash that reads; No Smoking-First Two Rows! (removeable) The Hula girl on the dash, really makes the complete sceen for a 50's car. MECHANICS: New Battery & Heater Value in 11/2010. The engine starts quick whether its cold or hot, & does sound throaty compared to my daily driver. This engine does not smoke in the least, & idles very smoothly. The tranny does leak a little if the car sits for a couple weeks, but goes away as I drive it more. The front disc brakes were installed in 2005, & @ the same time, new front springs & gas charged shocks all around. An auxliary fuel pump was installed to stop a vapor lock problem in hot weather. The pump is controlled by a toggle switch, so you don't have to have the pump on all the time. The exhaust tips were not run thru the bumper as in the original, to save the chrome & time cleaning. MORE INFORMATION: I've done my best in representing this car & will welcome any calls to discuss the condition etc. I do recommend if you are a serious buyer, to inspect the car during the bidding process, that way, you will be confident in its condition first hand ( or sending your favorite inspector). Remember that this is a 55 year old car, & is being sold 'as is, where is'. I & the previous owners are always trying to make these great old classic's look & ride like they are new. So this car must go to a good home, to keep these beauties turning head's as we drive down the Highway. Be careful on how often you wave, because you'll be doing it alot. At the conclusion of the auction a $2000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of the close & full payment is due within five days of the close of the auction. The quickest way to pay, is a electronic wire transfer, PayPal etc. Inspection is mandatory & must be done before shipping, & remember there is no warranty, expressed or implied. On the final payment, wire transfer or cash saves the most time for all parties, but cashier checks are acceptable too, it just takes longer to clear the bank. My phone is 800-815-3927, & I'm in California or Arizona. The car could be in either State, as I have a place there also. The car is titled in the State of Arizona. So make sure you leave me some lead time on the inspection. I'll end the auction early for the right price. You will love this 'Head Turner' Good luck in bidding, this could be your 'Chick Magnet' soon....
