Vehicle Detail

2002 California Highway Patrol B4C EVOC Camaro This 2002 California Highway Patrol (CHP) B4C (GM Police Package Option Code) Camaro Unit # 1111744 is one of only eight (8) 4th Generation CHP Camaro’s used for EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) High Speed Track duty at the CHP Training Academy in Sacramento California. This car is also one of only thirteen (13) total 2002 B4C Camaros produced by GM with a factory 2 tone Black and White paint scheme. All 13 two tone 2002 Camaros were sold by GM to the State of California. This 2002 CHP EVOC Camaro is fully equipped with factory options to include the LS1 V8 Engine, 460LE Automatic Transmission, Limited Slip 3.42 Rear-End, Factory Aluminum Wheels, Power Rack & Pinion Steering, 4 Wheel ABS Power Disc Brakes, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Fog-lights, Tilt Steering, Factory Air Conditioning, Power Mirrors, Factory AM-FM-CD, Bucket Seats, Console, Power Rear Hatch, Tach/Gauges, Tinted Glass and more! The ORIGINAL mileage on this car at the time of this auction is a very LOW 13,743 miles! This car was originally put into CHP EVOC service when new in 2002. This car remained in EVOC service with the CHP until sold at auction in October 2009. This car was modified for high speed track use by the CHP and was never a road patrol unit. Modifications include a complete 10 POINT FULL ROLLCAGE fabricated and installed by Chris Alston Chassisworks in California. I understand the cost for the roll cage work in each of the 8 EVOC Camaros was $7,000 per car back in 2002. The front bucket seats in the car were modified to allow the use of 5 point racing belts. A complete Flowmaster exhaust system was also installed. The suspension received upgrades along with the installation of CHP graphics and special lighting unique to the EVOC Camaros. The EVOC Camaros were NOT driven by recruits at the CHP Academy for training. Each EVOC Camaro was assigned to an EVOC Training Instructor for use and demonstrations at the Academy. These cars were driven hard during their service at the CHP Academy and were also seen by many civilians during demonstration days at the CHP Academy. There are MANY pictures and YouTube Videos of these cars in action on the internet. Links to these video’s are included with this auction. The exterior of the car is in excellent condition. The black paint is very nice. The front bumper covers is original and in good condition showing a few spots from nose to tail driving. The fog-lights are complete with the left fog-light broken. The fenders are excellent along with the original hood. The original doors on the car were painted Black by the CHP prior to the auction. That black paint was immediately removed after the auction. The resulting original paint under the black and the original CHP graphic locations are shown. The rear quarter panels are excellent. The rear bumper cover is nice and show evidence of a little nose to tail action by the license plate. Refer to the YouTube videos listed below to see what I mean by nose to tail rubbing! The floor pans on the car are superb! All the glass in the car is excellent. The rear hatch still retains the dark window tint installed by the CHP. Overall the exterior condition of this car is excellent. THIS CAR was by far the best of the 6 EVOC offered for sale by the CHP at the October 2009 auction. The license plates on the front and rear of this CHP EVOC Camaro are REPRODUCTIONS of the original CHP In-Service license plates for this car. These plates are strictly for show purposes and are not original to the car or legal for registration and/or vehicle operation. Mechanically the car is in good condition and runs and drives great. The LS1 engine starts and runs great. The automatic transmission shifts firm. The brakes are excellent and the tires are fair. The air conditioning is nice and cold and the heat is nice and hot. All the gauges work properly. The power windows, power door locks, automatic headlights, radio, gauges, rear hatch release and power mirrors all work properly. The air bag light in the car is on. The flow master exhaust sounds great! Under the hood everything is complete as expected. The car has full emissions and catalytic converters. The interior of the car is in nice condition. The full Chris Alston Chassisworks Roll Cage is in excellent condition. The dash is excellent as is the console, door panels headliner. The original carpet is nice with the exception of a small wear spot on the drivers side floor. The tilt steering column and original steering wheel are good. The original seats were modified by the CHP for use of 5 point racing seat belts for the driver and passenger. A complete set of Cam Lock 5 point racing belts for the driver and passenger are included with the car. The console lid is missing on the car. The CHP GE Ranger radio head was mounted in the console. The radio microphone mount is still present on the console. The rear carpet and trim is in good condition. The CHP installed STICO brand hidden radio antennae is still installed in the car. This car and five (5) other 2002 CHP EVOC Camaros (6 in total) were ALL sold by the CHP at the October 2009 CHP auction with Salvage Titles. The remaining two 2001 CHP EVOC Camaros were later sold in May and June of 2010 respectively and also sold with Salvage titles. The State of California and the CHP did not want these cars licensed and registered in the State of California for street use and therefore sold all 8 EVOC Camaros with salvage titles. Of the 8 total 4th generation CHP EVOC Camaros two (2) of the cars were badly wrecked in-service at the CHP Academy and sold wrecked at the CHP Auction in October of 2009. The single White and badly wrecked EVOC Camaro was ultimately purchased and auctioned for parts at Copart in southern California in early 2010. The second wrecked EVOC Camaro was sold to a street rodder who removed the engine and transmission for a Street Rod project and sold the wrecked rolling body to a high profile Chevrolet collector. 5 of the remaining 6 CHP EVOC Camaros are known and already in the hands of Chevrolet collectors. It is believed that the 6th EVOC Camaro is also owned by a Chevrolet collector. This 2002 CHP EVOC Camaro is one of only 2 of the 8 total CHP EVOC Camaros that NOW has a clear negotiable title and is legal to register and drive on the street. Although his particular 2002 CHP EVOC Camaro #1111744 was sold the State of California with NO DAMAGE and in complete running and driving condition at the October 2009 CHP auction this car was sold with a California Salvage title by the CHP. This 2002 CHP Camaro #1111744 has been through the LEGAL Vehicle Rebuild Process in the State Of Kentucky and now has a LEGAL and NEGOTIALBLE State of Kentucky Branded “REBUILT” title. This car is now legal to be street driven, registered and is sold with a State of Kentucky “Rebuilt“ Branded Title. It is up to you the BUYER to determine the ability to register this car in your state of residence.
