Vehicle Detail
I purchased this Corvette from the family of the previous owner last year. It had been sitting outside on a concrete driveway for several years. As a result, the interior is baked (see photos) and the once black paint has faded to a burnt red. That is the bad news. The good news is that this car is very, very complete. Take a look at the engine bay, it is completely untouched. The air cleaner, twin snorkels, PCV pipe, even the ignition shrouding is still there. Even the air pump is still installed and has the belt still on it! (This was usually the first thing to get pulled since it cost about 10 hp to run). It is very unusual to see a car that has been around for 31 years to have had at least some of the parts removed or swapped out for something more high performance or shiny. But that is not the case with this car. Look at the photos carefully and you will see what I mean. All of those little parts will eat you alive if you are trying to restore a car back to factory specs. On the interior, all the gauges, switches and do-dads are there (except for the radio knobs)And under the car, the exhaust is still factory with the catalytic converter and all the heat shrouds. The spare tire is also still in place. The car had several options including:RPO A31 Electric power windows ($141)RPO CC1 Removable glass roof panels ($365)RPO C60 Air conditioning ($635)RPO K30 Cruise Control ($113)RPO MX1 Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission (no-cost option)RPO N37 Tilt-telescopic steering column ($190)RPO UN3 AM-FM stereo radio with cassette ($234)RPO U81 Dual rear speakers ($52)We poured gas in the carb and put a battery in and the engine started! But this car is not drivable and needs to be towed.I have included a photo of where the VIN should be on the windshield pillar and as best I can tell, it is either rusted over or missing. Please see the photo. As a result, I do not have the actual VIN listed with this auction, I will have to get it from the title which is in the safe deposit box. I will add it as a note to this auction on Monday. The frame is solid with surface rust (see photo)I have all four western wheels, I just put rollers on the front to move the car around. I'll put the front two westerns back on before pickup. So, if you are looking for a Corvette to restore that has all the parts, this is the car for you. Please call (863) 206-2914 or email if you have any questions. Bid with confidence, I have a 100% positive rating.
