This is The Classic Mercedes Benz 450SL convertible / hard top car. This car has been garage kept and smoke free and is a real attention getter. The Mercedes dealership here recently told me to hold on to this car cause it will only go up in value. I have owned and taken care of this car for over 25 years and have said I would never sell it, but I have no room for it now and hope to find someone who will love this car like I have. The 4.5 liter engine runs fast and smooth as I remember when I bought it. The transmission, brakes and steering have no known issues. It has no fluid leaks. The interior is in very good shape, for its age, as seen in pictures. Also comes with a JVC radio/cd with remote control and Pioneer speakers added in back. Interior has burled wood trim, burled center console box, and burled cup holders on doors (all in good shape, but there are some cracks). Carpet ,mats and seats are in very good condition. Car comes with keyless entry and alarm system added. All original Mercedes manuals. I had this car repainted (and the wheels), years back, top quality original Mercedes color. The paint job with the hard top on is in excellent shape (showroom gloss) with one minor ding and no rust. The wheels are in excellent shape also. The flaws in the paint job are only seen when the hard top is taken off as seen in pictures (which I rarely did). The paint areas that have been touched up under the hard top is a separate piece and could easily be re-painted for a minimal price if needed. There is a slight darker curved hard top shaped half ring (that maybe can be buffed out) under the hard top (only when taken off) on the paint (as seen in picture). The hard top interior back blue rim has some cracking but I couldn't get a picture that would show it thru the glass. The exterior of the canvas top is in good shape and the windows are clear, as seen in pictures (interior of canvas top has some interior stains that could prob. be cleaned). It comes with a hard top one person lift, that mounts in a garage, for removing the hard top alone if requested. Firestone tires are in good shape. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and shipping costs. Known issues: The cruise control doesn't work. The temperature gauge works but jumps around sometimes (been that way for years with no problems). Slight creak in drivers door, sometimes, when opening (been that way for years). The AC blows cool but is low on freon and at some point should be converted to the new freon conversion kit that I was quoted for under $200, including freon, when needed. No car this age is perfect but I described it the best I could, and again I hope to have a buyer that will take care of this car for at least another 25 years as I did. On Apr-06-11 at 07:47:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I have an update (after I posted the car) on one problem I forgot till I just drove the car today after it was cold last few nights. The blinkers ,after cold or cool weather, blink very fast till the car warms ups. I asked a mechanic about it last year and he thought it was a blinker relay and not very expensive to fix.
