Up for auction is a 1970 Corvette convertible. This is an all original car that has had one repaint in the original color. The car has 70,000 actual miles on it. It is all numbers matching with a 350 (300 horsepower) 4-speed transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, and am/fm radio. It has original interior that is in good shape, no rips in the door panels or seats, and the only thing that would need replaced in the interior is the carpet. It has a very nice original top, with the back glass missing. This car was purchased new in Kingsport, TN by a doctor and then sold in 1972 to miss Peggy Earls who registered it in her father’s name because she was only 17 years old. Upon the death of her father in 1985, the car was transferred to her name. This car has been kept in a garage since 1986. The only thing that has been done when it was pulled out of the garage was the instillation of a new fuel pump and fuel filter and I rebuilt the original carburetor, and installed new points, plugs, distributor cap and coil. The car starts and runs great, but the brakes are weak. Everything works on the car, including the headlights. It still has two original t3 headlights that open and close. The key buzzer, horn, interior lights, etc. all function. This would be a perfect car for restoration. The frame has no rust, the birdcage has no rust, and it should still have its original tank sticker. It still has the original date coded radiator and tank. The spare tire carrier is nice. I could go on and on about this car, but it is just one of those original survivor cars. These cars are getting harder and harder to find in original non-restored condition. With a little brake work it could be driven and enjoyed until it is restored. I’m selling the car “AS IS” with no warranty.
