Great on gas!!! and fun to drive!! ok so details about the car. lets start with the history it is a 1996 bmw 318is, they stopped complete production of all 4 cyclinders in 1998. They now started producing 4 cyclinder engines in 2009. It's a 1.9 L engine e36 frame and i bought it for 4000 8 months or 10 months ago. I think.. Anyways when i bought it.. everythign was original, nothing was changed and that was a mistake because i ended up HAVING to change everything. First repairs that had to be done were, ball joints, struts, back rear coil, that coil is almost impossible to find and it is very common for it to break in almost all bmw's. Changed the spark plug wires that cost me a good 250 for the oem's, also of course changed the spark plugs. I also had the air conditioning (need to fill the ac again) and heater working by replacing the e36 blower motor resistor (final stage unit). i let bavarian auto parts do it, have been our mechanic for over like 15 years. and they do all of our cars hes a really fair mechanic Couple months later, The ball joints gave out on me again because they did not properly install it so they gave me universal ball joints, which eff'in suck. The universal ball joints made my car's steering very loose, before with the oem the steering was very tight and fast. After that the clutch gave out on me, had to get that professional installed, clutch and flywheel was replaced with a stage 2 clutch . There was a lot of things that i was gonna do but never had time here is the list of the stuff that was already replaced and that is fine New tires we're replaced have receipt with it, free lifetime rotation and free patches for life. Discount auto in the states Brakes, slotted rotorshad it oil sprayeed (rust protector) spark plug wires, all 4 struts and shocks two rear back coils stereo, but need to fix the stereo, works perfectly fine but is sticking out. you need to adjust the backing and it will fit in perfectly fine. clutch and a few other minor stuff like fuel filter and regular maintence stuff used on valvoline sythenic Cat converter, was installed very recently What needs to be fixed, There is a dent in the front, it can be bumped out need to change thermostat if your going to change thermostat might as well change the water pump, it will cost you around 60 bucks for all parts on ebay. Need blower motor for the car as well, im not sure if you need to get a new final stage unit as i already had one but then the whole thing gave out on me. change ball joints to oem there is a whole in the muffler somewhere not at the catylic converter but i can smell theres a hole somewhere. Drivers seat doesnt recline for the person in the back to get in, i opened it up, it can be fixed, i can show you. dunno what else needs to be done.. i've easily already put in at least 3 grand into everything due to labor/parts. fuel efficeint 600 kms a tank of 50 bucks Canadian, for america i dont know the mpg but it should be pretty good. Car is running at around 209000 kms or so? around there.. the engine is running beautifully It also has a sun roof.. but the car needs to be repainted, only the front hood and there was a small fender bumper hit in the front. You will see from the video. Car runs good need to change the ball joints like i said. it’s a good car! Sun roof works no problem !
