1973 Cadillac Eldorado Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Replica-one of only 500 produced 38 years ago, VIN is 6L67S30431429. This is a West Coast, high desert car which I bought and drove to Maryland 9 years ago. Had great fun with it at the drive-in movies and it did local car show and prom duty for several years. It is time to move on my interests have shifted so this car is offered no reserve to the highest bidder. Five years ago it developed a substantial transmission leak in the garage and I decided not to take it out until I got it fixed, it has been parked there ever since. I have started it every month or so and taken it out every Spring for its annual bath. It has always started first try. It has the 500 cubic inch Cadillac motor that has been started from time to time and always starts first try, every time. It only has 116K miles and the engine seems very strong, it is all original as I expected to do a full restoration on it but never had the time and money to get that started. It was repainted a matching Cadillac white sometime in its past. After all these years it is still a pretty car and turns heads-every time I open the garage. I have a full set of Cadillac shop manuals and have some spares for it, I have another rear bumper, a red 1994 Eldorado steering wheel and two used, red door inside door shells. Issues with the car are the automatic transmission leaks, there is a small oil leak, the windshield has a crack, the top is not original but has some significant wear, the dash has several cracks from age but has a matching cover which looks presentable, it is missing one hubcap, and has a couple of small rust spots. One on the right corner of the trunk lid which is superficial, and a couple near and under the right rear skirt which need attention. Right before I picked up the car 9 years ago, someone opened the trunk and stole the spare, and left the trunk open in a rain storm. The carpeting and pad in the trunk was soaked when I got the car-I took all of it out-the trunk is bare and the car does not come with a spare tire. The other four tires are good with more than half the tread left. The frame and underside of the car are solid and would make a perfect candidate for a full restoration, the Indy 500 Pace Car sticker set and pinstripes are available. I would not recommend driving this car until the transmission has been looked at, so pickup with a flatbed or trailer is a must.
