Vehicle Detail
1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV 4-Door Hardtop. This is an extremely rare and unique find in running condition but needing final restoration completion. The car is equipped with its original 430 CID V-8 with only 110K miles and has recently been tuned up/overhauled to fine running condition. New power brake booster/master cylinder, new brake lines, new gas/fuel lines, new front end bushings/kit, new front shocks, recent oil/fluid change, new battery, new ignition switch, and various other recent new parts. The body was sanded/primed for repainting a few years ago and is very straight with no rust (except some minor spots on the rockers and the hood. (The car was originally white). The chrome is decent but has some corrosion/heavy pitting on various trim pieces and the rear bumper has the worst rust/corrosion. (All chrome pieces are there and go with the car (some were removed for the priming but are all in the trunk, including the hood ornament, remaining hood chrome, fender scripts, rear quarter chrome, etc.)) The seats, headliner, carpet and and door panels were all redone/replaced in the original colors/patterns several years ago. The original upper soft dash pad was damaged when a tree branch broke through the windshield (which needs to be replaced) and a correct, original black replacement dash pad from another 59 (not yet installed) goes with the car. The windshield wiper arms were also damaged by the tree bracnch and will need to be replaced. The tires are the correct style/wide whitewall width but are older and showing some age. I planned to complete the cosmetic resoration but other projects have now come up. The car will still need: 1) new gas tank (temporary tank currently hooked up in the trunk); 2) new windshield and wiper arms; 3) chrome replating (if wanted for show - ok for fun driver quality); 4) front window glass on both sides (windows are in tact but cracked); 5) assorted electrical repairs (windows/seat, etc.); and 6) repaint. This car is sold as is where is with no warranties express or implied. Please ask all questions before bidding. You are welcome to come see/drive the car before bidding. I will not disclose the reserve during the auction. The car is being relisted only because high bidder last time was a foreign buyer who claimed his son bid in error/without permission - not because of any problem/issues with the car.
