Vehicle Detail
1974 Volvo 144. 3 owners. Spent its life in Oregon. Hoping there's a Volvo lover out there to see this car through the next 37 years! Comes with maintenance records from the last five years, plus a few of the older ones. This car is not perfect or restored, but a well cared for and mostly original daily driver. I have done my best to illustrate the condition, but please contact me with any questions. (Because I have had a few people ask: I would say that this is not a good first car for a teenager, due to its age and many original parts.) Pros: Interior is in good, original shape (some vinyl has been patched, there are a couple of tears in the seats and one crack on the dash).Exterior is also in good shape. There are few narrow dents along bottom of both sides and the back driver's quarter panel is a little more faded than the rest of the car. A few rust spots here and there. Under 200,000 original miles on car. New engine was installed in 2003 (appx 22,000 miles on it now). Starts and runs great. Never overheats. Comes with original handbooks. Recent work: -Fuel filter & injector seals -Oil change -Oil pressure switch -Water pump & thermostat -Master cylinder -Trans linkage bushings -Rear shocks Cons: Gas gauge has stopped working (recently, after being detailed so it may be an easy fix). Odometer only works intermittently (for about the last two years). This car does have a Reconstructed Totaled title. It was rear ended sometime before I owned it and the bumper was replaced and the back driver's side quarter panel had some work done. This is all I know about it.Heater core needs to be replaced. Recommended work in the future: -Heater control valve -Freeze plugs -Manifold gasket -Windshield wiper motor (currently works fine, but occasionally makes a squealing noise.)
